Works great, great price, but a few flaws
This essential oil diffuser has some pros and cons. First of all, the price was great; this was one of the least expensive diffusers available. Also on the plus side, the colors are very vivid, and change and morph frequently. The remote control is really handy to turn the diffuser on or off, or to simply just turn the lights off but keep the diffuser running. Once you turn it on, it starts emitting the lovely smelling vapor almost immediately. On the down side, it doesn't seem to run very long. There is an orange marker that I think is supposed to be the fill line. The instructions refer to a red line being the fill line, but I do not see a red line in the reservoir at all. So, I have been filling to the top of the orange marker. It runs continuously for about an hour, even though the instructions say it will run for three hours if you have it on continuously. The triangle shaped outer part of the diffuser lifts off for you to be able to fill the reservoir and add drops of oil. The material is smooth, so it is sometimes hard to get a grip to lift it off due to it's tapered shape. Finally, if you don't have the top part set on completely, it will leak. Since the base and the outer part are both white, it's not obvious if it isn't on all of the way.

Emits a steady vapor of your favorite essential oil. Plastic won't add class, but this is a safe alternative to candles.
Does exactly what it claims. This diffuser emits a steady stream of scented vapor that soon fills the air with the aroma of your favorite essential oil. As stated, the prism's LED cycles through several soothing colors that project a moderate amount of light. They are quite comforting/relaxing. Great for a bath in the dark. Ahhhhhhh! :*) This is what we called in my day, "Groovy!"Like the others in its class it is made of plastic, so although you do get a lovely aroma it won't add class to a room. However, it's a good price. (We knew that at go.) The shape is a different than most, which is what attracted me to this style. That I like! This is my first time to buy an electric/plastic oil diffuser. I usually get unique ceramic holders and t-lights - or preferably larger candle holders. Unfortunately, I have of habit of leaving them burning without supervision - for hours. That would include leaving them burning upstairs for HOURS whilst I'm downstairs, as well as leaving them burning sans supervision at all whilst I am out golliwagging around town.Confession: I almost burned the downstairs bathroom down with a candle. I sort of left it burning with the door closed, for 2 ½- 3 days. I wasn't expecting that, but I learned my lesson. (For any potential firemen reading this review, I'm not sure black walls are in reality a sign of fire, but there were black soot all over the walls. I had to wash all of the walls and repaint them. (Bonus: I like the new color better. It's great! But, I am quite sure there are better ways to achieve a new look without risking fire for the entire neighborhood.)This I know: Leaving a candle burning, unsupervised in a room, with the door closed for several days isn't recommended! So, while I am sacrificing style by settling for a plastic model I suppose we are all safer? Currently, I'm grounded from using candles. Seems to please my neighbors and family.

Awesome with the right oils....
I have tried different brand oils in this, and I definitely notice a difference in quality of oils vs. scent that it puts out. I happen to distribute Young Living, and my husband only likes YL brand in this diffuser. I also notice I dont have to clean it as frequently, this being due to the purity of the oil. You can easily purchase an oil here for a good price, but there is no guarantee that it is 100% pure oil and no chemicals added in for an extra boost of scent. When I was using the other, lower priced brand, I had to clean it non-stop. Now, I clean it every few days to once a week. I also use less oil for the same amount of scent put out there. I diffuse pretty much 24 hours a day because I dont sleep much, and this is by far the healthiest addiction I have ever had. I have had this for quite a while, and I love it!! Going to purchase more, for the rest of the house. I also recommend this specific model to all my friends and family.

Good value
My family has been using essential oils for about six months. We needed more diffusers in our home but couldn't pay the $$$ that the oil company charges. I still wanted the ultrasonic capability and a cool mist like the high end diffusers though.Overall, I'm pleased with the Koko Aroma Athena. The light has multiple colors and brightness. The mist is consistent and doesn't dampen the surrounding areas badly. The remote control is very convenient as the diffuser has found a home in my bathroom. It's the perfect bath time accessory whether I'm bathing my daughter or relaxing myself. The oil-brand diffusers do tend to break up the essential oils more effectively to disperse into the air. I'm basing this statement on the amount of oil that accumulates on the ultrasonic plate and the lack of aroma when using the same number of drops in different devices. However, for the price, the convenience, the aesthetic, and the options, I would recommend this unit.

Great product!
I purchased a diffuser for our daughter and she loved it so much I purchased one for myself. Mine actually was defective. I shipped it back with no questions asked. My second diffuser is amazing. I got the same one and I'm so so happy I did.
