Suuuper Eeeasy Install!
My pull chain from my 12-year old Hunter Bay ceiling fan from Home Depot broke. I tried to replace it with the cheap stock switch from Home Depot, but it gave me a harder time than I should have trying to install it due to the expectation of how wires should just "slide in" to the slots in the plastic hub. So the new plastic pull chain hub that I bought from Home Depot broke and that's when I came across this awesome pre-wired hub. This was a super easy install and it took about 5 minutes to connect the wires (not counting the fan housing removal of course). I love that it included its own wire caps for safe install. NOTE: if your old color coded wires don't match the color coded wires on this hub, be sure to take a reference photo of your old wired hub (shown here) before disconnecting. Be sure to take a photo that shows which color wires go into the corresponding numbered slots on the plastic hub. This will save you a TON OF TIME! And then connect accordingly.

Choose this design that has wires instead of slots.
I have 5 ceiling fans. I never thought twice about using the chain to change speeds until one day the chain pulled clean off one of them. Found out the only way to fix was to take the fan completely apart to get to the fan switch, snip all the connecting wires, strip them and make sure that the wires are correctly connected (hard enough if the part had it's own wires. I bought this as a backup for the next fan that this happens to. The fan switch i used did not have wires, just tiny slots for the wires to 'push in' so the wire ends have to be flattened solid by soldering. I had no solder so i tried to twist/pinch each wire and push them into tiny slots as best i could into the right switch which was not easy. this one has wires which makes it easier to strip/join/twist the wires together. nonetheless now i set all the fans on middle speed and try not to change the speed anymore.

Works well. Specific for certain ceiling fans.
The switch was the correct one for my old Hunter ceiling fan. In my case, it wasn’t so easy to install but I succeeded. It works smoothly and reliably, so far. It does seem fairly expensive for a fan switch to me but I needed one and it works. Problem solved.

Easy fix!
Someone in my household had pulled the ceiling fan chain too hard and broke it. I was worried I would need to buy a new fan. This was an easy swap out to make. The product arrived in a timely manner. Very pleased.

Not with the extra money
Thought I’d spend the extra money for this “better” switch. Very disappointed. Said it would work with my fan. No such luck. I returned it and bought the cheap one. Fan now works fine.

The Right Speed Switch for My Aging Fan
I can no longer get a four wire ceiling fan speed switch from my local big box home improvement stores. My ceiling fan (over 20 years old) goes through a switch about every 7 to 8 years. It's nice to know I can still get the switch for it. It would surely be a shame to have to replace a perfectly good fan just because over time the plastic in the fan speed switch gets brittle and fails (like nearly all plastics eventually do) and big box home improvement centers have chosen to stop carrying the replacement switch.

Didn't work
Could not get this to work, even though it was exact part number. We were able to bypass the speed so the fan runs only on low.
