Amazing Cookware SB106 Natural Terracotta 25cm Round Dish , Brown, 1 Pack

I bought a very similar pot to this about 20 years ago in Menorca and somehow managed to get it home unbroken in my luggage. It had been my favourite pot ever since - great for roasted veg, potatoes, tapas, chicken wings - anything really. Good soak in hot water and Fairy and it always comes up like new with no scrubbing. I went to get it out of the cupboard the other day and it wasn't there. How could I have lost a pot? I looked everywhere. Had burglars been in and stolen my favourite pot? It was a mystery, so I order this new one. The round shape means it's one of the few that fit nicely inside my halogen oven (which I use daily). I then realised, that I must have left my old favourite pot in the kitchen bin to drain out some fat - oh my goodness, I'd thrown it away by accident! Luckily, our binmen only come once a fortnight so a traumatic trawl through my wheelie-bin contents with rubber gloves and a stick soon returned my beloved old put to me. So now I have two. The new one is lovely - just as nice as the old, nothing sticks to it and food cooks evenly. The pot also looks good on the table - rustic and solid.

Robust dish to cook with

The media could not be loaded. Since I was a child, I always saw my grandma and mum cooking with one of those. Don’t ask me why but all you cook with aTerracota casserole tastes magically different. Anything. It is very true that they are extremely fragile and need to be used with extreme care. Many people recommend to leave them totally covered in water for 24h before the first use. Many others, with garlic. Make your research in YouTube how to cure a terracotta casserole. If you take care of it and changing temperature very slowly when cooking, you will have it for a long period of time. If you never had one give it a go and you’ll love it. Also it can be a great gift! Highly recommended!

I bought two. They appear to be very good. I "seasoned " them as per included instructions. Upon using them at pretty low heat on a gas hob one cracked almost instantly. Resulting in a real mess and a ruined dinner with friends. Now I have to pay to return a substandard product! Seriously??? You send me a faulty item I have paid for and paid for postage, yet you expect me to pay to return it! Not happy at all.
