2kg Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher - FireShield

I bought this extinguisher for commercial use. I haven’t had to use it (and hope I never will!), but it feels solid, comes well-pressured, and the instructions are clear. The size is great too—compact enough, but still holds a good amount of powder for emergency situations. The pressure gauge is a handy addition for peace of mind. The only downside is the wall bracket that comes with it—it feels a bit flimsy. If you’re mounting this, you might want to invest in a sturdier clip. That said, for the price, it's a fantastic bit of kit.

I had to unfortunately use one of these. I actually bought one of these as well as a fire blanket for one my parents for Christmas 2018, because I knew one day, their almost consistent alcoholism and absolute obsession with having to have a "fireplace" (instead of putting on more layers for warmth) would one day mix for the worst. Roughly 6 months later, when one was drunk out of their mind, thought it would be a great idea to set fire to a piece of plastic that used to be part of a window, which then cascaded into a very large (but localized) fire in the area of the fireplace, burning some wood and some rubbish, getting dangerously close to the curtains. We quickly deployed the fire blanket first which contained the fire and then used the fire extinguisher to... extinguish the flames. The fire was contained, but it left a significant amount of toxic fumes in the house which was not nice to ingest. What they thought was a joke (but not to me) at Christmas turned out to be a lifesaver. If it was not for my decision to get one (Baring in mind we NEVER had one before for 20+ years), we would have had nothing to take out the flames, the curtains would have set alight, which then would have become uncontrollable, burning down the house. Since they stupidly let my younger sister use the rest of the extinguisher for her own amusement (to my outrage), I have bought another one of these in case history repeats itself. It works very well and I have seen from experience that it is reliable. Worth the buy.

I haven't had cause to use it to put out a fire, and I hope I never do, but the build quality is good, and the all-metal bracket is very sturdy so I think it's very good for its price. I put one in my hall cupboard and one in my garage/workshop, as they were so cheap to buy. These replace my out of date handheld powder extinguishers, which I read a review about saying they might not contain enough powder for even a small fire. I like the addition of a pressure gauge meaning I can check it easily for confidence. I presume they can be re-filled, but at this price it's not the end of the world if I have to buy new ones in future.

Ok unit, wall clip a little flimsy but does job. Hope I never need to see if it works!

My first attempt at a review in which I said I hoped it would work if I needed it was refused on Guidelines reason ? They pester you to provide a review if you take a breath and then don't like what one writes. So my review is that it is nice and red.

Ok never used thankfully

Hopefully I never have to use this but felt compelled to own one after reading all the other helpful reviews. Also, not sure if I was lucky or not but manufacture date on mine is Sep ‘20, see picture so this is fresh off the production line unlike what some others have suggested. Also, will remember to turn the bottle every couple weeks as per some kind chaps advice to prevent the powder settling, no nothing about these but sounds like sound advice. The cradle is a little wobbly so I do not entirely trust it and I think this is best placed on the floor against a wall to prevent it falling as opposed to wall mounting but that is merely my observations when handling this.

They look the part is all I can say not used them nor do I want to use them so can't review them apart from saying they look good as far as looks 5 stars.

He pedido dos para casa. Han llegado rápido y tras una incidencia, el vendedor me los ha repuesto al instante con lo cual, se han ganado mi confianza y desde luego, les pediré más porque tengo otros servicios que proteger. Por mi parte, totalmente recomendables.

Como todo producto hay que probarlo porque si llega el día de un incendio y no has probado si funciona, mal asunto. Lo probé hoy, comprobé antes que estaba la presión en verde, lo usé dos segundos y funciona pero ahora está como echando la presión por la boca y el medidor se ha ido a rojo, lleva así más de 20 minutos, lo mismo se descarga al paso que va y la presión se quedó en el rojo profundo. Si alguien sabe si es normal esto que lo comente. Actualizo, nos comentan los vendedores que como lo hemos probado que ahora se queda la presión en rojo por lo que si hay un incendio no funcionará al no tener presión. Desde que lo probé hace unos días la manilla se queda en el rojo profundo, nunca más subió al verde. Esperemos que no haya una desgracia y tengamos que usarlo, tengo las respuestas guardadas por si hubiera que denunciar.
