Grooming the Great Ape
I bought this workhorse for manscaping after my dog started barking at me in the night having mistaken me for a Gorilla. I mostly use it with a 2 or 3 guard just to help bring down the dense, dense jungle-matter if it gets a bit too much. Don't get me wrong, I'm no hairless dolphin-smooth spiceboy, but every few months it starts to look like I'm smuggling seaweed in my pants with a shoe brush sticking out my top, so needs must. It's a good quality item, as is the little bag and accessories it comes with, and is very easy to use, especially helpful having the little colour key on the unit to help you pick the right colour guard up quickly. It cuts all hair types and weights with great ease and holds it's charge very well! I opted for the rechargable version of the clipper as I don't like the feeling of being bolted to the wall or tripping over anything whilst shaving – this ape likes to roam whilst it grooms. It's got that quality feel and weight to it that let's you know you've chosen well which is always nice. I also bought a bottle of the Wahl clipper oil at a very good price which is great and really helps to give an effortless glide to the cut. I've taken to using this oil regularly with my embarrassingly vast array of grooming tools so I'd definitely recommend this also.

Ideal for DIY haircuts during Covid-19 social distancing
I bought this item in March 2020 to comply with social distancing recommendations during the Covid-19 pandemic. My hair was approaching crisis point for a hair cut. Despite having had multiple decades of hair cuts, I can’t say I actually know in any level of detail what the barber has done during my monthly or bi-monthly visits over those years. Therefore, a DIY approach to cutting my own hair was a bit daunting. Before attempting my first DIY hair cut, I watched a few You Tube videos. None was perfect for my hairstyle, but I found enough to get a good idea of what to do. My advice to anyone else is to search for equivalent videos. For me, I used the No.4 blade to start on the back and sides and then a No.8 on top. I then blended the back & sides with the top using smaller blade numbers as I progressed up the head. I’d say I took about 30 mins in total but this will probably be 10-15 minutes going forward as I’ll have more confidence. There are also two useful attachments for each ear which you can use with a No.3 or so to blend in with the rest of each side. Then finish off using the clipper on its own (ie without a blade attachment) to trim further around the ears and the hair line on the neck. It is probably necessary to ask someone else to do your hairline on the neck. The key of course from the start is to use a higher number - it’s always easy to use a lower number to cut tighter to the head, but if you cut too-much off, the only correction is time - maybe a few weeks! All-in-all, this is a great tool at only £23 to get me through the next few weeks or month of lockdown / social isolation. While I did the haircut myself, it would be a lot easier to do on someone else so if you’re a parent who needs to cut your son’s hair, this could come in very helpful. Pros Easy to use The colour coding of the various blades is very helpful. It saves time searching through all the blades for the right size. However, I would recommend stopping and reading the number on the blade each time before cutting. Some of the colour shades are similar and it’s easy to make a BIG mistake if you don’t stop and check. The blade number and the length in mm is also printed on each blade It’s cordless Cons A red light comes on to indicate charging but does not change colour when charging is complete After about 5-10 mins of actual cutting time, the sound of the motor indicated it was labouring a little. So perhaps the battery doesn’t last the 60 mins advertised. Despite this being called a Pro model, it is not. It does not have the fine adjustment that the salon models have. This means you may not be able to completely blend from one blade level to the next.

Works even better than I thought it would! Very impressed. Very good value for money!
I bought this because although I already have one of them, which I've had for over 30 years, and which still works amazingly well, I needed one without a lead for use in hospital. It works really well, is super clean cutting and comes with a great range of trimmer blades to cut the hair different lengths, including two which are left and right sided for cutting around the ears. All colour coded too which makes life easier at trimming time. It comes with a charging lead, a carry case which is black fabric but very sturdy and it has scissors, a comb, a cover to protect clothing during hair cutting, a small cleaning brush and oil for the blades all included. And it comes with a small booklet that describes different haircuts. All in all I am deeply impressed with it. It has proved very handy for my husband who has used it in hospital, and will be more practical for taking on holidays in future. It also charges up really quickly. Would definitely recommend. Very good value for money.

Excellent product
Excellent clippers! Brought these as its not possible to get a haircut during lockdown. Having never cut my own hair before I was a little anxious but these clippers are super easy to use & cut really well, the colour coded attachments helpd a treat. Be sure to watch/follow some video posts on a well known website before hand & start with a higher grade & work your way down (if needed). Personally think, i'll be cutting my own haircut with these clippers from now on as there possibily, just as good as the barbers. Well worth the money, you cant go wrong, just be patient & take your time whilst trimming. As for build quality: the clippers felt solid & balanced whilst trimming. Cant comment about battery life just yet however with the clippers being cordless meant I didnt have to battle with any wires whilst using them. Would highly recommend this product with confidence

Super improved combs
A replacement for one I purchased in 2020 just before lock down. Used every day since, the blade started pulling and the battery recharge was fading. Replacement blades cost £10-12 or so and are hard to source (no stock). So I just boaugh a new one. I'm very impressed with the improved graded combs - far easier to get an accurate trim.

Fine, but noisy and not the best cutting performance
I bought this for three main reasons: the brand name, the fact that it's cordless, and the ease of use. In the latter two respects, the clipper doesn't disappoint: it's user-friendly and the cordless option makes it very versatile. It's also very straightforward to disassemble and clean, and comes with a very handy bag for storing all the parts. However, I've found the product to be a bit of a let-down in terms of performance. The blades don't seem especially sharp, and the clipper is very loud (really not fun for cutting around the ears). Overall this seems like a reasonable cheap option -- it's low maintenance and easy to use. But if you're after high performance then I definitely recommend investing in something better.

Working well so far
Sad to see so many bad reviews about this item (like the one about the spring breaking when removing the cutter head). I hope my pair holds up... I will avoid removing the cutterhead! I just use the vacuum cleaner (with a brush attachment) to suck it clean! (and then a drop or two of oil on the blades before putting back in the storage case). I had an old pair of USA made Wahl clippers and they were bullet proof. However they were quite noisy, quite heavy and were corded. The cord always made it a little awkward when cutting your own hair as it dangles around your head and kinda gets in the way. These Colour Pro Cordless clippers are quiet, easy to use and I've never had the battery get weak while using, I always re charge it fully after use. The only annoying thing is that, during charging, the light just stays red, it doesn’t matter how long you leave them on charge. The manual states that a full charge is reached after 12 hours, but it would be nice if the light turned green when fully charged. I hope that the charger has some kind of ‘over charge’ protection built in. So far they have paid for themselves as I've done 4 haircuts with them. A couple of the cuts I've given myself are as good, if not better, than I’ve received at many barber shops. So far, I can only give these clippers 5 stars and I'll keep my fingers crossed.
