What this heat lamp does is penetrate the muscuke and tissue increasing the blood flow and heating the area it provides great relief immediately after use you can feel the difference and relief in your muscles and body also very relaxing . The Beurer heat lamp at this il50 rating and av100% UV filter is so well made and easy to use it has a timer of 15 min that you can adjust to the time you want up to 15 min the units build quality is fantastic the unit does get hot but it has fans that are cooling it I just leave to cool before replacing in the box for storage . There are endless uses for the infrared it helps your skin tone as long as it has a 100% UV blocker like this model also help to relieve headaches and has many other uses I'm just reading a new book all about infrared treatments and uses so will update my review when I know more but honestly I bought this for my back and to keep circulation in my leg and it does exactly that and also for my face to help even skin tone and I'm so happy with my purchase it's great value for money as well .

Heat lamp
This was recommended by the acupuncturist I see, she uses one when treating my back, it does help, my wife recently broke her shoulder and was in considerable pain, she’s only used it once and already felt a difference. Just follow the instructions and away you go.

carrying awkward
This is a great machine but it needs a handle on the top to move it around easily. It only has side handles which feel really awkward. You can also easily burn you hands on the hot screen if you move it too soon after a session. A top handle would easily avoid this.

Big relief for muscular pains
I’m still using this fine years after purchase. Really effective for easing muscular pain in back and shoulders. But read the safety instructions people! I measured the front glass temperature with an infrared thermometer out of morbid curiosity, and it is skin blistering hot as expected for this to be effective at the prescribed safety range.

Great heat lamp!
I've only had this a few days, so I can pertain to whether it fully works for my intended purpose, but the reason I got it, is because I suffer from ETD (Eustachian Tube Disorder) and after watching a video online, someone used this with great effect. This heat lamp help to generate blood flow within your body. The ears are one of the hardest places in the body for you to get blood flow, but if you do, it can help remove inflammation from the Eustachian tubes. If only three days, I will say I am feeling better, but it is way too soon to see if the problem has been resolved. The guy who recommended it got results in about a week or two using this twice per day (15 minutes on each ear, so an hour in total). He was also doing other things, I believe, like eating healthy, taking vitamins and supplements, etc.I will definitely update this review if I see any significant improvements with my ETD over the next few weeks.

Please read review
Firstly, it has to be said that this is a very useful, superbly designed, lovely looking large infra red lamp of superior quality. I used it for the first time today on my face, which is primarily what I bought it for. It was both relaxing and warming and I had a lovely healthy glow afterwards. I'm very pleased I bought it and will try to use it everyday from now on. However, I must warn people NOT to touch the actual screen after you have just switched it off. I accidentally touched the screen with 3 fingers of my left hand, immediately after I'd switched it off and it was like touching hot coals in a fire - yes that bad. I went to A and E today for treatment of the burns and have painful blisters on my fingers, which will take up to a week to heal. My fault entirely. But please be careful and let the appliance cool down before you move it. Good luck!
