Perfection!
First try and it made the most perfect waffles!! Ive had a cheaper waffle maker previously and I was really disappointed as the waffles were quite flat. This makes the deepest waffles I've ever eaten and cooks them perfectly every time! I used the recipe for classic waffles downloaded from the sage website for use with this particular waffle iron and it made 8 perfectly sized waffles. I will never buy waffles again! Highly recommended!!

Waffle Day Triumph
After painstakingly extended 'research' and pontificating I finally pressed 'BUY' late late Saturday night (in hope of trying something a bit different this Pancake Tuesday). We live in the middle of nowhere - but midday Sunday it arrived. Gotta love Prime!First impression review:Compact footprint - say a couple of inches diameter wider than the waffles themselves, reassuringly heavy - appears a good sturdy build. Instruction booklet was sufficiently intelligible for me to get straight to the business of waffling with scarcely a cuss.Badly pressed for time this Shrove Tuesday I whipped up only the 'classic' batter recipe from the booklet - this took about 3 minutes. From 3 eggs and half pack butter it felt like I fed the five thousand - it made at least 11 deep waffles (I lost count). I divided the batter 3 ways.Feta, sundried toms and chives, with black pepper: verdict - very tasty but will be much better when made with a savoury, unsweetened batterFresh blueberries with extra vanilla bean paste: verdict - perfect just as you dream your homemade waffles are going to tasteChocolate orange, with orange zest, chopped black choc with candied orange and good cocoa: verdict - OUTSTANDING! worth the cost of the machine for these aloneSo I added lots of sticky stuff ... no issue whatsoever, waffles lifted effortlessly. Machine has timing options, but on average cook time about 5 minutes. This ditz particularly thrilled that I can get distracted and wander off and still they won't burn due to auto 'done' function....yet you can keep them warm / crisp them up again much as you like.I'd heeded previous reviews so no learning curve or mess, every single one perfect from the start.Mental note to update this review next Pancake Day re durability - because I'm looking for a workhorse - no way is this seeing the inside of my kitchen cupboards.

Expensive and excellent
No getting away from the cost, its very expensive for a waffle makerAnd it makes PERFECT waffles. If you can budget it in, and you and/or your family love waffles, highly recommended.

Well done Heston (again..)
We bought this as a replacement for a cheaper waffle machine which we didn't even unpack as it was so flimsy.By comparison, the Sage is solid and robust and feels like it will last forever. The moat around the hotplates to catch any spills is a simple but great idea and keeps the machine clean. It has multiple settings for different types of waffle, adjustments for cooking time that you prefer, and even a 'bit more' button, so with a bit of tasty practice you can get your perfect waffleThe plates themselves are heavily treated with anti stick stuff, but we do spray with releasing oil - PME Release A Cake Spray 600 ml and the waffles simply fall out leaving no residue at all. It's well worth looking at this book too - Will It Waffle? - falafel waffles, intriguing and very tasty..This is one gadget that hasn't (and won't) be consigned to the back of a kitchen cupboard.

Makes large waffles, sometimes a bit too large for me. My husband and I both struggle to remove the waffles from the machine when cooked. It looks very attractive on the worktop.

Is it really that easy?
After much deliberation and research, one failed order from another website, and reading many many product reviews, I decided upon this one for making my waffles. Yes, this is at the higher end of consumer grade waffle makers, and yes I could have done this much cheaper, but I don't want to be buying lots of replacements when things go wrong. And judging from the reviews of other products from other folk it appears that waffle makers regularly go wrong. On first unpacking this waffle maker it is obvious that the quality is good. Very robust, good hinges and controls, and no chance of handles or wires breaking as with alternative products. There are no recipes available in the box for that batter (at least not with my product) but these are easily available online. Search for the heston recipes that were designed for this product. They come out great. Make the batter, pour in to just above the castelations and close the lid once it's up to temperature. Make sure you don't lock the lid. The product is designed to allow the waffles to expand and the lid needs to allow for this.5 mins later it tells you it's ready, open up and pick out the waffles with non metal tongs. Perfect every time and the chambers are left very clean so it does not need extensive cleaning.Very happy with this purchase and everyone who has tries the waffles love them. Hence the 5 stars throughout.
