Easy fit converter
This was very easy to install, and fitted nicely into the back box of the existing single socket. Contrary to some users' feedback, I found the screws plenty long enough to secure the new unit to the existing box - they were actually longer than the ones already fitted. I am very happy with the price and the performance of this converter.

Very Useful
I've had 2 of these and they work very well. Very easy to convert a single socket to a double with very little effort and looks good too!

Great piece of kit, but buy 50mm screws
This is a superb piece of kit, and allows a basically competent DIYer to convert a single socket quickly and easily into a double. I used two to replace old single sockets prior to a planned rewire, as they can be fitted in five minutes and no need to dig out the wall for a double back box.Quality is superb, and the wires are held captive well. Be aware older wires are often short so it might be a bit fiddly, but once in, it stays put. You may have to untwist your earth wires as it has two earth terminals rather than the usual one.It protrudes more than a normal socket but only half as far as a surface mounted socket would, and looks really good on the wall. The left hand plug is stiff, the right goes in easily. No idea why that might be. Still easier than the 1970s socket I replaced. As other reviewers have pointed out the worst flaw is that the supplied screws are too short. If you have normal thickness walls you will need to replace them with 50mm screws at least. These are inexpensive and I had some to hand but make sure you have them before pulling sockets off your wall. The other flaw preventing me from giving give stars is the caps that cover the fixing screws don't stay on well. I had to use a blob of blue tack to keep them in. Don't glue them or you'll never get it off the wallAll in all though, superb. Neat and cheaper than a new double socket and back box.

Plug doubler 1 into 2 great product.
Having seen the price and read some of the terrible reviews I thought I'd screwed up here and thought "got what id paid for" but I'm not going to say that at all . This product is brilliant. Well made. Seems to conform to BS regs and is just what I needed. Yes the cable holes are tight especially with a ring main circuit but nothing a bit of tidying and snipping didn't cure. All in all a great product and a great price. Took minutes to install and is working well. Thoroughly recommend it to all.Not sure I believe some of the reviews on here now after actually seeing it and fitting it myself. I think some reviews may be from very inept people with little or no skill or practicality at all.Just use your brain take your time and this product will do you proud.

Solid made
Easy enough to fit, the new screws are a pain but it works. Looks good, replaced a single socket.

Not great
All internal screw-terminals have relatively small diameter and depth, so struggled to fit the old multi-stranded ring-main pairs of wires. Also quite difficult to insert 13A mains plugs into each of the double sockets: the earth pin does not easily activate/open the L and N 'shutters'. Overall felt it's a poor quality design and build standard... but it is cheap and served my intended purpose.

Awful quality. Buy cheap, get cheap
These were cheap and I've got some BG chrome double sockets which are decent quality. These however are not. The supplied screws are for starters not long enough so had to use 2 50mm ones I had already. However due to using those the little plastic caps no longer fit over the screws. Not a huge deal as you can't see the screws when something is plugged in.The real issue is the poor quality of the socket. It is hit or miss whether or not you can actually insert a plug into these! I'm guessing the little flap in the earth hole isn't engaging close enough meaning the flaps in the Live and Netural don't open and the plug can't be inserted. Fortunately what I've plugged into these sockets will be staying in them, however if this was a socket where I was frequently inserting and removing plugs then these would be absolutely no good. My advice is avoid these unless you really can't afford another.

Excellent product, great value.
Really pleased with this and wish I’d have known such a product existed before now. There seem to be some negative reviews about the length of screws and the fact it sticks out a bit.The screws were fine for me. Yes it does stick out a little more than your normal socket; but it’s not an issue for me.Only slight criticism is that the connectors were you feed your wires in are really tight. On my socket, it’s on a ring and there are 2 wires going into each connector. It’s a really tight fit and quite fiddly, but I got there in the end. Still, it tuck no more than 10 mins to install, and given the price, this product fully deserves 5 stars.Would definitely recommend
