I bought this product and used it. It melted within 12 hours and plastic bird spikes came off. Did I do something wrong?

Hullo! We are so sorry to hear that you have had an issue with our adhesive. Our Defender Bird Spike Fixing Silicone should have no loss of mechanical structure at 110°C however there is a possibility that installation onto a bituminous surface like roofing felt, could cause a reaction with the tar and this may caused the adhesive to not stick to the surface. how easy to remove the adhesive - rented accommodation ?

I can see the problem. I take it you’ve tried looking Google up? That’s not a joke by the way that’s where I always go first. Is a metal scraper worth a try. I can only think of turpentine or Ice cubes. I know ice takes chewing gum off. Not being much help sorry if it’s on stone ect I would gently use a scraper!!!!!! Good luck.

Can it be used to stick the spikes to a shed felt roof?

I used the Bird Defender and Pidgeon Spike on my TV aerial works a treat, I don't see why it wouldn't work on a felt roof

What is the lowest temperature to fix this to a round steel pole

Hi, the lowest temperature I would use it is 10centigrade. However when I used it I stuck the plastic bird spikes to ridge tiles with this product, yes they did stick it for a while however after say a month they began to come unstuck ! I wish, one I’d bought the metal bird spikes and two used something like superglue, at least try it as this is not that cheap to buy !!! I would suggest whatever you use MUST be ultra violet light proof to protect from the suns rays, hope this helps ?

You'll need a silicone applicator gun to use this product but it dies the job well

Good but pricey.

Quite expensive and a lot more silicone glue than I actually needed. You will need to trim off the end and fix the tube into a gun to use to get the silicone out. At the time of purchase, I did not realise that the tube of silicone glue was so big. I expect the glue to work well, however, if you are just fixing two or three anti-bird spikes, I suggest you buy a tube of Bostik for £2 rather than spend all the costs of purchase and delivery for this item. If you actually do need a whole big tube of glue, I would suggest it would be much cheaper to buy 'No More Nails' or 'Sticks like S**t' or another brand of fixing silicone.

Ok ish. Does the job

Pigeons are not coming to my balcony no more. But the product is sticky and difficult to be removed. The flask is not practical. Had to remove the gel with a spatula

Worked well and set quickly

We bought this to fix down the spikes onto our steel pergola.Was easy to use as we cut the nozzle slightly smaller than the width we wanted to apply.We thoroughly cleaned the surface we were installing the spikes onto and the adhesive Stuck down well for all the sections of the 8 meters we needed to fit with plenty left over if we need to buy more or need to reapply at a later date.The spikes have been on for over a month and experienced all sorts of weather so far and they’re well stuck down.
