Defender Fixing Silicone

We bought this to fix down the spikes onto our steel pergola. Was easy to use as we cut the nozzle slightly smaller than the width we wanted to apply. We thoroughly cleaned the surface we were installing the spikes onto and the adhesive Stuck down well for all the sections of the 8 meters we needed to fit with plenty left over if we need to buy more or need to reapply at a later date. The spikes have been on for over a month and experienced all sorts of weather so far and they’re well stuck down.

It does work and is now stuck solid onto both wood and plastic but...you need a lot of muscle power to get the silicon out of the tube provided, no matter how big a hole you cut in the nozzle. I got around it by standing on the tube, which meant the end promptly popped off the base of the container ( ! ) thus allowing me to scoop out the gloopy stuff and apply accordingly. Not the most elegant method but if all else fails its a workaround.

If you have a cheap tube of general purpose silicon try it first with one bird spike strip to see if it works. I suspect it would be just as good. If you don’t want to chance it stick with this one as it seems to do a good job.

We have had problems with seagulls nesting on our roof for years, and when we at last stopped them we wanted to make sure they couldn't return. I fixed spikes using this adhesive, and the spikes worked! One of the spikes came loose so I took it off and re-sealed it with this adhesive. The other two spikes are still holding, years on, and the one came loose as the slates are not perfectly flat for attaching items. An excellent adhesive - worked well the first time - why would I use another!!

I have no idea how this product has managed to achieve 5 star reviews. It is poorly designed for its intended purpose. It dries as a soft silicone and with minimal pressure it can be removed by hand or by force of nature a gust of wind can render it useless. The product dries clear and looks presentable but it lacks the strength required to make it long lasting. Adhesion is below par. It was a good job I had another adhesive to hand and I used that instead. This product could be improved by making it stronger, durable, waterproof and frost proof - the fact that it fails on all of these areas means you are better off using an alternative such as grip fill available off here.

Purchased the product and arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the product itself wasn't that great. We purchased the bird spikes to go along the top of our concrete wall. The spike fixing silicone adhesion didn't stick that well from the plastic spikes to concrete. It did in some areas but not in others. My husband had to drill into the top of the concrete wall in order to keep the spikes stay on the top of the wall. Wouldn't buy it again.

You'll need a silicone applicator gun to use this product but it dies the job well

Quite expensive and a lot more silicone glue than I actually needed. You will need to trim off the end and fix the tube into a gun to use to get the silicone out. At the time of purchase, I did not realise that the tube of silicone glue was so big. I expect the glue to work well, however, if you are just fixing two or three anti-bird spikes, I suggest you buy a tube of Bostik for £2 rather than spend all the costs of purchase and delivery for this item. If you actually do need a whole big tube of glue, I would suggest it would be much cheaper to buy 'No More Nails' or 'Sticks like S**t' or another brand of fixing silicone.

Colle vite et trés bien a voir dans le temps par contre très très difficile à utiliser!!!! Je me suis fait très mal aux mains à pousser sur le piston pour pouvoir faire sortir le silicone.

prodotto adatto installazione dissuasori della stessa marca , il dubbio che anche sigillanti di marche più rinomate nel mondo dei siliconi avrebbero fatto lo stesso lavoro spendendo meno . Comunque ottimo risultato per l'applicazione senza problemi dei dissuasori piccioni della stessa marca

Per ora il prodotto ha fatto il suo lavoro, ma è stato tremendamente duro riuscire a far uscire il prodotto. Non si apre facilmente.
