Lovely set.
My little one loves magnets and spends ages playing with the magnets on her great-grandma's fridge every time we visit so I decided to buy her some of her own. This set is lovely - it's a well made wooden set with the magnet covering the whole of the back of each piece so no worries about small magnets falling off and being put into mouths. It has a good selection of different animals and my daughter has enjoyed naming them. They're a good size for her little hands to manage and have certainly had my money's worth out of them so far. Only slight issue is that the little wooden box that they come in doesn't have a lid on so might not be great to store them in - not an issue for us though as the magnets live on our freezer so we don't use the box for storage. An excellent purchase!

Fun learning
I decided to buy two sets of letters and two sets of numbers and the abacus too but for some reason I could only buy one set of numbers and letters. I get the whole rationing thing with food but with letters and numbers!? Strange but with no school at the moment wouldn't we want to teach our children more and get them to eat less. What a world we live in. Anyway, I'm sure its a stocking issue but it still seems odd to me. Anyway, on to the products. We bought a set of letters previously and thought we would get a couple of sets of each numbers and letters, an abacus and a magnetic whiteboard to "teach" our 3 year old at "school" as she doesn't go currently due to the pandemic. It worked, was fun and as she already had a small table and chair we set up a classroom and we got her to interact with the whiteboard. This is now a daily thing and she loves "school!!" We like Melissa and Doug's toys but my one frustration is "Made in China" why!! You have a UK brand, children, learning and fun. I'd rather pay more and buy British so I was a bit disappointed as there are cheaper out there obviously from the Far East. If we keep making this about money we won't have any industry left in the UK, this is nothing against China but we are being swamped and are in real danger of being run from afar. We need to be less obsessed with cost and care more about where we buy our goods from otherwise there are countries that will have all our money and we will be looking for landfill abroad too.

Perfect for toddlers
I bought the animal set for my 15-month-old daughter to occupy her for short blocks of time and she not only loves these animals but has learnt to identify them already. They’re also sturdy and withstand being thrown around and bitten so really impressed with the quality of this product.

Good fun educational kitchen distraction for toddlers
I like the artwork on these as it is friendly without being too cartoony when teaching kids about animals and their names. There are a nice selection of wild and domesticated animals from various parts of the world. There are no separate magnets to break off and get lost or choked on, just a magnetic layer across the whole of each shape. The magnet is just strong enough to give good placement on a fridge without being difficult for little hands to pick off and move around. Good for toddler play but not really up to being used to hold papers and such.Negatives: The box has no lid that will actually hold the magnets in if it is tipped. It just comes with a thin bit of plastic that lies on top. This is a real pity as the box could be an attractive feature. Also, the magnets themselves are just stickers/wood/magnetic layers glued together with no overall protective coating. They probably won't survive getting wet or rough handling so that's something to be aware of. Both of these are obviously cost-cutting measures but I'd happily pay 50% more for a set with these features.

Fun and educational
Well packaged. Detailed bright pictures. Ideal size for young children. Stick well on a magnetic board. Fun for a toddler to play with indepently or to use for story telling. Value for money.

Great item!
Bought these fridge magnets to distract my granddaughter whilst I’m doing jobs in the kitchen. They keep her amused for ages. She loves them!Good magnetic stick. Not flimsy. She started playing with these when she was 11 months sat in front of the fridge. Now she’s walking she stands up and plays just as long arranging them all over the fridge doors , mimicking the animal voices as she picks them off and sticks them back to the fridge door.Very pleased with this buy.

Simple, entertaining and no batteries required
I bought these for my (then) 15 Month old daughter to entertain her in the kitchen on the fridges. Its one of those simple toys that I guess makes you think back to your old childhood - no microchips, noises or charging required. They were exactly what I was looking for - basic well drawn animals ranging in size from (approx) 10cm x 10 cm for the elephant, through to the smaller animals at 2cm x 3 cm (Duck) They have provided many hours (more like days) of fun for her - from learning what animals are called an identifying them, through to animal noises. Kids do like magnets (the joy of sticking things onto the bare white fridge) and she was often content just moving them around. So they have certainly educated her as I hoped they would. For value for money, I was very pleased with this pack. It contains a good mix of animals, domestic (cats, dog, rabbit) farm (cows, sheep, pigs) through to zoo (Giraffe, lion) A few months on and all are still as good as new. I'm even considering a second pack for her to play "snap" with them. So I would recommend these highly as a durable and fun educational tool.

Love it
Out little girl was given the number version of these wooden magnets, I was surprised at the good quality, we like the bright colour mix & that they are larger in size than plastic ones we've seen, and are very sturdy - no slipping on our fridge! We liked them so much that we invested in the alphabet version having been disappointed by a plastic set we already had. We were not disppointed with the quality being the same as the number version. There are 52 letters, capitals & lower case. The set comes in a nice wooden box with plastic slide in lid so they can be easily stored when not in use. Would definitely recommend to friends.
