Really accurate and reliable!
Bought this as I wasn't sure what temperature of our room was at night but it felt like the temp was dropping. The groegg showed us that it was and we were able to fix it by setting the oil to come on. i had one of the wee paper temperature things but its very slow in comparison as the groegg picks up the change in temperature really quickly. We have a thermostat downstairs and when I opened the egg up in our living room was sitting at 24.1 Which is exactly what the temp read on the groegg. When I took it upstairs it dropped within a few minutes of being on. So it is very accurate. Very quick and easy to read. The lights are great. The blue lights wakes me up i find it hard to sleep with it on but I think thats great because it alerts me to the temperature being too cold. My newborn loves looking at the light.

Makes temperature telling easy!
A great little device, you don't need to enter the room to see the temperature, you just glance at the light.It's a little dim in the day time, in fact, you probably won't see the light at all in the day, but it's nice and bright of a night and acts brilliantly as a night light. Our daughter is 3 weeks old and it's winter, so we definitely use this every night to make sure she is nice and warm. The product is really light, but also made to be able to take a knock or two, should it fall from where it is placed. There is a power button on the bottom of the device, although we can't imagine it ever being turned off, or just being turned off at the plug for simplicity. The lead is long enough to reach from the floor to the top of our IKEA Malm 6 drawer set. I don't think it will reach much further than this so it will always need to be nearby a plug for power.In the box, on the instructions, it tells you what temperature range each colour means (or you could look at the screen), and also tells you what to dress baby in for sleeping at each range.- Blue is too cold, or below 16°C- Yellow is perfect, or between 16°C and 20°C- Orange is too warm, or between 20°C and 24°C- Red is too hot, or over 24°C.It's definitely a load off our minds as new parents, and our baby seems to sleep well (when she does sleep) and never been too cold or too hot.

Super clever idea
Super clever idea.! I came home with premature twins and one of them had warmth problems. As a result I always wanted to have a warm room and got a good telling off from my Health visitor who commented on how hot it was in the room every time she came to visit as this has a link to an increase in SIDS!I promptly tried all manner of temperature gauges as I felt I could not judge the room via my own body temperature (compounded by the fact that it was cold outside and with newborns I stayed inside so had none of that ' just walked into the house' feeling to compare it to).The egg is amazing and works by changing colour depending on the temperature. Bright red for warning its too hot, orange for warm, yellow for recommended baby room temperature and blue for too cold whilst also displaying the room temp. in the digital display with a nice touch of a digital smiley or sad face symbol depending on the temperature suitability for the baby.It also makes a nice little ambient light feature n the corner (not really as bright as something like a night light, which is fine as nice enough in itself as still gives a nice unobtrusive glow ). Love the colour idea as you don't have to spend your time pressed up to a digital display wondering what the temp. is and trying to remember what that optimal temperature for the baby is.I would recommend placing the egg right beside the cot /Moses basket as obviously on a windowsill / door facing plug socket it may give a different reading due to the circulation?Overall, innovative and clever idea!

Great thermometer
We bought this thermometer and have found it to be a really useful design. The colour indicator of temperature is better than a standard thermometer as it alerts you to temperatures that are too high or too low without you needing to keep going up to it and reading it. It's an attractive design and very simple to use. The price on Amazon was cheaper than other retailers too.The colour coding is blue means too cold, yellow is just right, orange is too warm and red is too hot. The only problem with it is that the yellow is a warm yellow which could be mistaken for orange so you have to get used to the shade to know that it's just right and not indicating that it's too warm. The only other thing is that it would be better if it could run from batteries rather than being plugged in so that you had more choice about where to position it but this isn't a problem if your sockets are in convenient places.Overall i'm pleased with it.

Loved this thermometer. As a first time mother you sort of become obsessed with keeping the baby at the right temperature and this was so handy as you only have to glance at the light to see everything is ok

Best temperature gadget I’ve ever used!
I wanted one of these for my toddler but thought “oh it’s too expensive”.... ummm how wrong was I! I admittedly got it in the sale recently for my newborn, but it is brilliant! The glow is very soft and warm, the temperature is very easy to read both day & night as it has digital temperature as well as background colours for too cold, just right and too hot.The cable you get to plug it in is plenty long enough to keep it out of reach of little hands, and it’s actually really small so easy to pop anywhere in the room. I thought it was huge when I looked online!I’d definitely buy full price, I had a well known brand alternative (okay, I went through about 3 actually) that all worked in the bath as well as in rooms with my eldest daughter, and they were absolutely rubbish and didn’t even last until she was 6 months old. Totally recommend the gro egg!

Does what it says....but barely.
Does not fit Australia plugs, I had to spend more on an adapter.As others have said, it does not seem accurate.It is super flimsy and looks better in the pictures.

Accurate and beautiful
I had reservations about this item after reading so many negative reviews, but decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did! This thing is such a nice addition to our nursery. When people visit, it's one of the first things they notice.As advertised, it's easy to see that the temperature is in the right range from the color. The soft glow of the unit also makes it an unobtrusive night light. After powering the unit on and allowing it to adjust, we've experienced no issues with the temperature readings. It varies from the thermostat exactly as you would expect based on room size and circulation.

Does not work. How can a thermostat not work!?
Giant waste of money. I am returning this. It seems like a great idea but it runs about 5 degrees hotter than the actual temperature. I say get a regular thermostat and save the money!

Perfect temperature
I like it because it offers me tranquility knowing how many degrees are in my son's room.Not sure if it was anywhere mentioned that it has an UK cable and you need a converter to plug it for other european countries.It would have been useful to show also the time. At night when I need to feed the baby I always look at the egg and then realise it does not say also the time.Also, would have been nice to be slightly bigger. It.s quite small
