How big are the bricks? Or is it just complete structures?

The base they are all on is 28.5cm wide and 15cm tall. The bricks are proper Lego pieces but mainly single and double as opposed to 6 or 8 circles on a piece if that makes sense. My 8 year old had this set, Buckingham Palace and New York City and we've had great fun building them over the past few days. You get a fantastic set of instructions too which explains the history behind each structure aswell as detailed instructions. It took my son about 4.5 hours to build by himself. Is this much smaller and more fiddly than the normal lego for younger children pieces? Frustrating for a 7 year old?

Bought it for my grandson who is 9 years old and he built it ok.He has built a few of these so he knows the concept and he says just build it slowly and carefully.Good luck.
