What diameter is the pole needed by this item if I want it to replace high ceiling bulbs?

I just use a broom pole for this item .

Has anyone tried to remove broken bulbs from a cooker hood with anything in this tooleset?

I would not have thought that this would work for that. The set works on being able to get a grip of an out of reach bulb side (at the widest part) or the face (e.g. halogens). I can't see how good it would be or what improvement it will make if the bulb is already within reach, let alone broken.

Why does this not come with the essential component a pole?

The extension pole is very easy to pick up from any DIY store - a standard size, usually sold for purposes of attaching to a paint roller for decorating ceilings. Probably a bit difficult to pack up for posting so the suppliers of the bulb changing kit don't bother to sell it as a complete set.

Has anyone tried this with a UK bayonet cap bulb or only Edison screw type bulbs please.

I tried this for you using the small bulb item and it worked perfectly both for taking out and putting back. However if the bulb is at the end of a flex, you will have to grip the bulb-holder as well. John D.

Good quality item the works well

Long reach bulb changer

A useful kit

The kit works well with most bulbs. It would have been even more useful if it included a suction pad for flat GU10 bulbs and a firm gripper for pbulbs.ush fit

A great money-saving purchase

Used this kit with an extension pole to change light bulbs in a double height room which would otherwise have required scaffolding to reach, potentially making the job very expensive. One of the bulbs shattered on removal, leaving part of it in the fitting but we were able to ease it out using the special tool. A great money-saving purchase.

Okay but don't use for hi-bays

Okay for most lamps BUT do NOT use for SON-E 400 or 250w hi bay lamps. They will slip out of the grip resulting in a lot of paperwork 😂🤣

I clearly saw that no pole was included expecting it would fit an ordinary broom-handle or the like. But no way as without the specialist pole nothing else will do. To discover this I had to destroy the packaging and can't be bothered to pack it up again and go to the post office I can't drive at all and certainly can't walk two or three miles there and back to do so. I wouldn't need this device (albeit it is fine in itself) if I wasn't "old and infirm" in the first place. So this has been an exercise in futility. Not at any great cost but disappointing overall and a waste of time. My advice is that if you need the pole (and who doesn't that wants the device) then just don't bother with this one. Sorry Ettore but that's what I think!Tony
