Great toy but could be more useful with added features.
Great indoor drone. Protected rotors means less chance of breaking ornaments or scratching someone. A bit susceptible sometimes to drafts and airflow in a house, but otherwise VERY stable and easy to control. Camera is pretty useless but the Lego-pin back means in theory you could mount your own mini video/pic camera on its back (as long as it was very light) - I used a cheap HD one to great effect.iPhone app controls are very good via Freeflight 3. In summary, I miss the camera view of what the drone sees, but otherwise this is great fun indoors or out at close range to your iPhone or android smartphone. Wish it had few more features to make it actually useable for something (camera, night vision) but a good family-friendly toy nonetheless.

A great Fathers Day Gift
I got this for Fathers Day and it is great. BUT... It is far noisier than expected unless 8 meters away so no stealth flying. The software update process is cumbersome and slow for the first time with poor instructions on the website/parrot forum.Basically the phone app recognises device needs update, downloads it to phone and then tells you it takes 35 mins to transfer update over Bluetooth.Or download to PC, connect micro usb and drag/drop into root of device which is shown as external drive/usb stick. And then wait for flashing eyes to tell you update complete. The app will still want to transfer the file so best to uninstall /install the app again to device which resets its version check loop. Then you can fly the noisy drone around the house for 8mins before it needs charging.Fast charge works fine from iPad charger with cable swapped over to microusb instead of the white Lightning lead. Charges in 25mins. Then unplug!!! Do not leave connected for hours.App wise not sure I will pay 15quid for the full feature flight planning app. This would be for the bebop drone which I might invest in(or DJI standard 3) later in the year.Great entry level drone spoiled by how noisey the little high speed fans are and the annoying firmware update process.

Fantastic little drone!
This is a fantastic little drone! Stable, easy to fly and lots of fun. My 6 y/o son just loves it! The only down side is the batteries don't last long (around 5 min), but they are cheap so I just bought an extra 4 of them to get some decent time out of it.

Enjoy a safe and fun flight
I'm really impressed with this toy. It set up really easily (downloaded app onto my Android 5.1 Moto G, created account, plugged drone into computer and updated the firmware from the website - 20 mins tops) and we were flying! You get up to 10 minutes flight with no lego loaded onto it. With lego it goes down but its fun to add a little bit to customise the look - though my 5 year old would build an entire house onto it given a chance.Speaking of which, flight controls are really simple he (and I) have no problem controlling it in the house. I like that you can set limits on its speed so he can control it safely in the living room. 'Stunts' (loop the loops in different directions) are triggered with the press of a button so require no skill other than making sure you've enough room around the drone before hitting the button. If you're not touching the controls, the drone hovers patiently which is also good for confidence if your confidence at the wheel isn't strong. Should you hit anything the bumpers protect the blades and it has a shock sensor that will simply kill the motors. It's taken a good couple of knocks with no damage so far!My only disappointment is the altitude limit cannot be set below 2.6 metres. It would have been great to set it lower so I could let it (and the boy) loose in the garden and be confident it couldn't clear the fence but appreciate it's probably a limitation of the ultrasonic sensor it appears to use for measuring height. The downward pointing camera is fun - but not very good quality. You'll use it once to prove it works but probably not again! I imagine if you wanted to you could sling a tiny action cam (Mobius Action Camera 1080P HD Mini Sports Cam - Wide Angle Edition beneath it with a lego frame around it, but this isn't really the point of this toy. (Doesn't mean I won't try it some time!)I'm so pleased I got this instead of a cheap helicopter as the experience of being in full control of a stable flying machine instead of careening into things or trying to hover or picking up pieces from all over has been really good. Highly recommended.

Just a bad product
This is just a bad product designed to advertise other expensive products. The update procedure 99% failure, transfer of a small image (file) over bluetoth is total (100%) failure. The done is not capable to maintain a proper position (some of cheap Chinese I have do a much better job) add worse this drone decide by itself to increase or decrese altitude move left or right and obviously crash into something.Documentation is next to nothing - the buttons in the app are big unknown, test crash and see - maybe they want us to buy some spare parts? with the money I`ve spent I simply prefer an JJRC H12C - these guys know hot to do them ..parrot does phone hadsfree (even there they have bugs unsolved for years - CK3100 bad firmware and not updated)Update: Now they have changed the app and there are no more adverts just a link to buy spares or their drones. I do not see the reason the app is that large and also the pairing is slow and there is no reparing if something goes wrong.

Temperamental, but good
I use these for teaching coding, so the ability to program is the main selling point. Flying them inside like a standard drone is pretty good and they are resilient, but there are other, cheaper options out there.Programing ability is excellent and allows a lot of exploration, but they are inconsistent and don't always do as programed - and that's not user error, I promise! Sometimes they will turn 180°as requested, but the next time they will only turn 150° and end up somewhere else instead. This is fine, but can be frustrating when pushing the envelope, so to speak.
