top product
wow really comfortable I had seen a review on here how tight they were so I'm not sure what's going on there but they're absolutely spot-on. I do wear glasses and they fit comfortably within the glasses or I can put the glasses a little bit over the top which it's fine absolutely spot-on the clarity is just amazing turning the volume up and down and it's so simple and there is an option for the Jack for your iPhone which I think is really good because it keeps this product very simple without going through technical buttons and data et cetera to get what you want at the end of the day it blocks out the noise but it gives you local noise if you want it I genuinely would recommend this product because it really folds down just spot on in the bag very happy with this definitely get one.

Very good at reasonable price
I have used Peltor slim passive ear defenders for clay shooting for many years but decided to try an electronic set. These make it easier to hear one's fellow competitors speaking but also to hear the scorer calling a kill or a miss. The Impact Sport headset is slim, light and just as comfortable to wear as my old passive set. Ordinary noises such as speech or birdsong are transmitted clearly but the sound of gunfire is muffled at least as effectively as my old ones. The volume control is easy to use and I cannot think why one would want individual control for each ear unless perhaps one's hearing had already been damaged in one ear. There is some white noise when the volume control is turned up very high but as I found the ideal setting was about one third of the maximum, this is not likely to be a problem. The order was delivered within two days of ordering. At £61.99 post free these are very competitively priced and very effective.

Very good product, excellent value for money
I purchased these electronic ear-muffs for target shooting. I am very new to the sport and I wanted to make certain I will be able to listen to the instructor's advice and any safety instructions without having to take the ear-muffs off (thus risking having my ears unprotected when someone else would fire). I have used it once so far and it works very well. I am able to amplify my surrounding sounds and at the same time, block any loud sounds (such as gunfire). The ear-muffs seat comfortably on my head and ears and the fact that you can control them using one button only makes them very user friendly. I would recommend this product to people that are interested in blocking loud souns but still maintain an excellent awareness of their surrounding environment.

Great product, for the larger person.
Very good for the reduced price, although I don't think I would be as happy if I had paid in full. My biggest issue is the fit/sizing. Whilst I cannot blame that entirely on the product as we are all indeed very different I have a couple of issues. Due to the wires from each muff interfering with the head strap I am finding that they do not sit flush on the head, rather they are at a slight angle and this obviously reduces their effectiveness. The other down side, although low profile, they seem to intefer with the stock when held up to the cheek. However, both of the above can be put down to me, the individual, as I am comparatively small. I do have a small head and find these are adjusuted to the smallest setting to fit me. That said I do think it is the root of my problem so to mark the product down for that would be unfair. To put this in perspective I ride motorcycles using a M to MS size crash helmet. Functionally these work great for shooting, build quiality is good but the battery cover can sometimes be finicky to remove. Sounds can easily be heard, even amplified if required with the harmful levels, such as gun fire, are taken out nicely.

Wonderful bit of kit
Couldn’t be happier with these. Great sound blocking, awesome clarity of speech. Got a pair for the girlfriend too.

Great value for the price, good performance, light and comfortable to wear
I've been using these earmuffs for about 6 months at the shooting range and they work splendidly for their rather low price. Two AAA batteries will power these earmuffs for many outings at the range (but carry spare batteries with you just in case). Replacing batteries is extremely easy. The sound isn't spectacular (don't expect Hi-Fi sound from these), but the sound amplification when you turn the volume up is amazing: I can hear bees and flies buzzing the nearby fields as if they were right at my ear. Loud noise detection (and muffling) could be better/faster, but they manage to do the trick and muffle shots relatively well, although I tend to lower the volume all the way down when at a very busy range (or at a target competition). They are very light to wear and comfortable even for several hours, although the rubber pads that don't absorb any moisture do cause some extra sweating in the summer. I would recommend wiping them with baby wipes after each (sweaty) use, as the rubber pads will stick together when you fold them and leave them a couple days. They aren't ideal for people with smaller heads (my wife has a couple centimeters of room between the top of her head and the headband). For me they are a perfect fit. They fold neatly into a very compact package, leaving more room in your range bag for other gear. Highly recommended (considering the price you can get them for - under 40 GBP). Obviously, more expensive active earmuffs will be better, but at this price range, Impact Sport are unbeatable - definitely the best bang for the buck.

Great bit of kit
These are fantastic very happy after having a bad experience with a pair of 3M Peltor Tactical 6S. Prior to purchasing the Howard Leights I purchased a pair of 3M Peltor Tactical 6S, I was Severely disappointed! They were incredibly hard to change the batteries, took 4xAAA, had two on off switches and volume controls and had faulty speakers!! I'm not even sure if Peltor even has a QA department as they were clearly faulty, if anyone had actually bothered to test them they would have known AND they were almost £30 more than the Howard Leights! for that premium price and the well known brand I expected a higher quality, how wrong I was. Compared the the Peltor Tacical 6s The Impact Sport by Howard Leight are fantastic! they are more comfortable, feel sturdier only take 2xAAA are very easy to change the batteries only have one power/volume dial and have very clear sound you can even hear people talking in the distance you couldn't hear with your own hearing. Overall if your into shooting and are on a budget you will not be disappointed with the Howard Leights! Also if they are good enough for Eric from Moss Pawn & Gun and IV8888 YouTube channel they are good enough for me.

great value for money for entry level, slim, electronic ear defenders
These are the first ear defenders I have purchased for clay pigeon shooting. Thay fit really well (I have a large head!) and snug over my ears (my ears are smallish however). They work as described, keeping loud sounds to a minimum and increasing the volume of quiet sounds. I really can hear people approaching me on the path from behind, great for situational awareness. Wearing eye protection with them can be a bit tricky, my glasses have a soft frame on the bit that goes behind your ears and the headset actually sits on top of that part of the frame. I think with a rigid frame this could be uncomfortable. The slim design means that I haven't had any stock bump when firing a shotgun. The only negative is if you turn them up as loud as they go, the sound becomes a bit distorted. For around £35 I think these are well worth it for entry level electronic ear defenders.

Very pleased w/ these.
EDIT, 2 years of regular use later: (I'm going to leave my original review below. For the most part, it's still accurate. For potential buyers, I want to include new info that only extended experience could have brought to light) I have other ear pro. One 3M Peltor Tactical (mid-range model, I can't recall model#) and one very inexpensive pair of Champion Electronic ear pro. The Champions work but have issues that keep them being any more than backups or for 'ear-less' people who may need to borrow a set. The Peltors are amazing. The sound is better than the Howard Leight's and I have zero complaints about them. But this is about Howard Leight ear pro. Mine are both my oldest pair of electronic ear pro and the ones I use most often - my 'go-to' ears. They're affordable by anybody at ~$50 (sometimes deals make them cheaper yet). They're effective enough to make them a viable competitor w/ higher-end and more expensive ear pro. I've never felt as though I needed to 'double up' and use earplugs underneath because they didn't offer enough noise reduction. Battery life is good. I use mine 2-3x or more per week, for between 1-3hrs/session and I typically need to replace batts once per month. I've never used the Howard Leight's input 3.5mm jack to play audio or phone into my ear pro. When I'm training/shooting targets, I'm training/shooting targets. Nor am I interested in hearing music while shooting - mostly due to safety. Some people may need to stay connected and may find an input jack to be a positive feature - I'm just not one of those people. Free Americans can decide what's most appropriate for themselves w/o advice from me or anybody else. Let's address the biggest, ugliest problem the HL's have, IMO: They will bring the pain when worn w/ eye pro (100% of the time, for me) and/or for extended periods of time. I can usually feel the headache starting after a half-hour to hour into a session. It's a 'surface' headache for me, personally. I'm assuming it's due to constant pressure from the head band piece, pushing against the ear pro. When I first heard of this issue (prior to experiencing it myself), I kind of chuckled to myself and thought perhaps some people were being sensitive (sissies?)...But I was wrong! It's not horrible, unbearable pain - it is difficult to simply ignore after a time, and it's certainly a distraction that nobody needs on the firing line when training or teaching/learning, or trying to shave fractions of a second from a shot timer. It gets old - quickly. There are gel inserts you can buy to replace the stock setup. They will cost you about 60-75% of the total cost of the Howard Leight's, though, unfortunately. To me, it wasn't even a question: I gladly forkes over the cash and my head/ears have thanked me repeatedly. Last, about durability: Internet 'torture testing' can't account for one factor that is difficult to simulate accurately: Durability and function over time. I've probably used and abused Howard Leight's namesake ear pro more than the majority of the target demographic. I'm not an outlier, a pipe hitter, HSLD, or somebody that purposely abuses my gear. But, I am a guy that spends a whole lot of time down on my personal range, shooting steel and consuming a lot of brass, and my gear gets used quite a bit like I said earlier. HL ear pro hasn't broken or let me down since I bought them in 2016. They aren't affected by sweat. Wires haven't split from folding and opening a zillion times. Single potentiometer/power switch is fine and does not crackle. Like most electronic ear pro, very close proximity to microphones will cause squeeling feedback, but it's not overly loud and doesn't occur in normal use; usually only when a hand, etc. comes very close to mic. They are inexpensive and durable. If and when they eventually do wear out, I will absolutely replace them because they are such a good value. Original review (2016) Incredible deal. Perfectly functional and takes a beating. It's difficult to put a price on your hearing...especially as you get older.

Game changer
Even though I still double up on ear pro these have been pretty great and have changed my range experience since I can hear well and still have noise cancelation. Fits really well but someone recommended I get the gel pads instead of the original which I did right away so I can’t comment on the comfort of the original pads but with the gel pads it is super comfortable.

Bluffant!
