How dark is the smoke version? I need glasses for indoor protection when bench grinding but also ok for wearing in the sun. Thanks!

can you wear a normal pair of glasses underneath these?

You can put them on, over a small pair of glasses. Not sure how stabile they will both be if you wish to move (cycling, jumping, playing sport). There are other designs of goggles slightly bigger, to allow wearing them with prescription glasses - i would recommend this latter design.

would you be confident in wearing these safety glasses whilst at a shooting range just to deflect richochets

I use them for airsoft so I trust it with something that weighs between 0.2g and 0.5g travelling up to 500 fps. I don't know what their rating is but the person that recommended them to me has done some testing with an airsoft gun at close range.
