Wow, awesome must have for boys, men, girls and women who love time in the outdoors
Where were these when I was a kid!? Brilliant piece of highly compact, lightweight kit. Everything you need to start a fire. All you need is a good knife and or a folding saw and you have all you need to start basic survival. Very clear and thorough instructions for first timers that fit easily in the container for reference until your well practiced. Brilliantly put together and thought through and the bellows is fantastic. No longer a need to find an old car Arial. Good job Polymath 👍👍

I Love My Spitfire Kit!
A brilliant British made product at a fantastic price - just add up the cost of buying the individual parts (if you can track them down) and you'll soon realise what a bargain this little kit is.As other reviewers have stated, one of main attractions is the telescoping "bellows" It's a super-neat device that extends like the aerial on a radio. It allows me to safely and far more efficiently fan embers into full flame, delivering a strong and concentrated blast of oxygen either when starting a new fire or reviving an old one. I no longer worry about kippering my head, filling my lungs with smoke or being blinded by hot sparks! Also included is a little booklet of handy fire lighting instructions that explains what to do with the rest of the bits. Polymath very thoughtfully sell a Refill Pack to top up your consumable tinder materials as well.If I was in charge of schooling, every kid in the country would be issued with one of these and encouraged to go outdoors for a change, rather than morph themselves into pale pasty blobs in front of their infernal computer games. Camp fire lighting is one of those life skills that's also a great deal of fun, and gives both adults and children new confidence in themselves and their abilities. So why not give your kids or grand kids one of these sets and go outside and enjoy the big wide World with them.Explore I say - Explore!

Good product excellent price.
Just the slightest shade off perfect but still a fantastic little kit. Nice simple components guarantee a faff free usability. The pencil sharpener tinder maker is genius, the pocket bellows is worth the price in itself and the waxy tinder allows wet weather functionality. The shade off is the striker which I found a little...lacking.All in all a great little kit boosted by the availability (and price) of the refill pack. The bellows lives by my multi-fuel burner at home for reviving the ashes, the kit has been used to light test fires only but functioned fine. Spitfire Refill Pack - Value pack of refill materials for your Spitfire pocket fire lighting kit. UK-made.

So there are smaller kits, and there are more useful comprehensive kits
But there is no kit that hits the sweet spot like this does. It's not really aimed at the every week camper, you'll have a bigger kit, more tinder, more vaseline balls, bigger ferrocium rod and the like. What this is aimed at is someone who might need a fire, but wants to only take up a little bit of space with that want. So it's a great supplement to a lighter, or a box of emergency matches. It's a great backup kit. It's a great EDC kit, or put in your bug out bag and not take up much space kit.Space wise as you can see, it takes up a little more room than a train ticket. I've put a train ticket in the photos for scale.Hopefully you've found this review helpful. If you think I could have done better, please let me know always happy to improve. Surprisingly good.
I got these for my son's as stocking fillers.Watching my eldest son, over he prepped the fire to start it, it was properly lit in minutes. He was properly impressed.Given both my son's feedback, if recommend buying this item.

Worth the price just for the chunky Ferrocerium rod the rest is a bonus
Great value for money, if you just use the Fero Rod and the bellows, as both very good quality and worth the price of the kit.Not used the Tinder or Kindling yet, but as you can see by the photos the sparks from the Fero rod is very impressive, and you would pay the price of the kit just for the Rod, not too mention the bellows (great bit of kit, no more sticking your face into the fire to blow and breath life into your fires). Will take it out with me and do a more details test of the Tinder and Kindling and update review
