Dimplex Club Optiflame Electric Stove, Black Freestanding Electric Fire with Artificial Logs, LED Flame Effect, 2kW Fan Heater, 1000/2000 Watt Heat Settings and Remote Control

Like everything about it. There's a thermostat so you set it and it will go on and off to control the heat. And the flame just carries on. The fan is not very loud it is a fan heater. And I love my telly and it doesn't bother me watching television 😁. It looks quite realistic and I am very happy with the fire. 5 minutes to put together. Unpack place of slate hearth. Put outlet vent on top. Plug it in and turn it on and away you go . The remote you can turn on and off that's all. You cannot change the flame height or the brightness. That is just set in the fire. I love it . It looks like cast iron it is made from some sort of metal . Gives a lot of heat out and it doesn't get hot on top or around it just blows out from the underneath.

Like how it looks authentic. It's metal rather than MDF like the cheaper ones, so it's a good copy of a real one, yet it's not too heavy and can easily be lifted and carried by two older people. We didn't want the constant maintenance of the more realistic looking Optimyst models, but we're happy with the effect of these realistic logs and clever flames and embers. The only thing I don't like is that, despite having a remote, you cannot alter the heating level. It only operates the light effect. You have to get up and push the buttons behind the door to choose between 1kW and 2kW. As others have said, it's quite noisy but it is only a fan heater after all. I did think being metal, it would become warm like a wood burner, but it doesn't. It's just a fan heater. Summary: I do think it's the best one of it's type. I did extensive research before buying it, and I was delighted by the great price.

This little electric stove does look lovely, ( flame effect is comforting and quite realistic ) and the option of 1kw or 2 kw fan heater is efficient and on both options throws out a lot of heat. Three things are a little annoying…. The cable is only 5’ long despite the description stating the cable was longer (so I had to buy an extension lead ). Although I purchased the Courchevel stove in white, the cable is black ( which, as not many people have black skirting boards but most people have white skirting boards seems a serious oversight. Not much point having a good ‘flame effect’ to make it look like a real wood burning stove and then having a black cable highlighting that the stove is electric. ( So the option was to have the stove rewired with a white cable or to purchase white ‘cable cover’. I did the latter. The final niggle is that the stove has a very obvious Dimplex ( another give away that it’s electric) silver coloured label on the front of the door but the door knob is a rather tacky gold coloured, a white metal knob would, I think, look smarter. Overall I’m pleased with the purchase but pleased, in view of the above gripes, that it was heavily discounted.

Looks fabulous in the fire recess, the flame effect is realistic and gives out a great glow into the room. Some reviews have mentioned the noise when the flame only is on, we have not noticed it. Yes when the fan heater is on there is a noise but all fans make anoise but this one is quiet. We highly rate the product. We now - Sept 2020 - have a problem with the fire. We turn it on at the mains and within seconds it turns itself off - we are not using the remote as this stopped working a year or so ago. Inside the fire is a printed circuit board with various electronic components - we assume part of this is the recevier for the remote control. Certainly when the fire is turned on one of these components lights up but then goes off. Looked on the Dimplex web site to see if there are sapre parts but this board is not shown. So alas unless we pay for an electrician to sort it out - and in the hope that he may know which parts to purchase we have a big white box. It is a shame as my original review still stands - if it was working October 202 - Missed the cozy glow so took fire apart and dicarded the printed circuit board - reconnected the cables inside - had an electrician check the fire PAT fine. So we have the fire back only difference is no remote control which had stopped working a year or so ago anyway. A new rocker switch turns the flame effect on and off as do the switches to turn the fan heater on and off.

We bought this to replace a similar but cheaper fire which we could rarely use because it was so noisy with just the flame effect on. Let's face it, essentially this is an expensive light with the added bonus of a heater. It certainly looks the part with the optiflame effect and even when turned off there is a glowing ember effect on the logs. We can't hear any noise with just the flame on and that is without any other noise in the room. Obviously there is noise when you turn the fan heater on, there's going to be, but even then it is not overly loud and I have had it on at 4am to warm the room when I get up for work rather than put the heating on for the house. It certainly throws out some heat too and with a controllable thermostat it turns itself off when it gets to the desired temperature. The controls are neatly hidden behind the door. It would have been nice to have a control speed for the flames but that option isn't available for this model. Overall it was a great buy.

Just perfect for the job we wanted it to do. Its realistic flame was a pleasant surprise and it looks the part without spending a lot of money on a proper Poelé.

Schaut super aus...sehr natürlicher Effekt...zwar bisserl klein, aber optisch echt gelungen..Heizung funktioniert auch,aber es braucht halt satt Strom um in einem mittleren Zimmer warm zu werden. Der optische Effekt alleine ist aber super und macht eine gemütliche Atmosphäre im Zimmer

Wow! Absolutely delighted with Duplex Optiflame fan lookalike log stove. Two minutes from box to switch on. Authentic flame, heat fan (not on max) throws heat out into our large lounge (room total capacity 140 m3. Fan not overly loud, doesn't interfere with listening to normal TV volume. Do have electric rad if the weather goes sub zero. We are elderly & trying to save hubby swinging an axe, hauling logs in to feed stove, no more cleaning log fire glass or chimney. I highly recommend & will buy another for the kitchen diner.

Hat zwar keine Feuergeräusche. Aber schaut gut aus, und wärmt gut.
