Are these metal like they used to be or plastic?

Mixture. They are not like they used to be. Upper is metal but not as good as before. The car chassis is plastic.

It depends on the pack you get, most of the times you won't be able to open the doors, hood or boot, but I know I had some in the past whereby which had features that open
