Superior to Oxbow
Better value, higher quality, and less dust than Oxbow hay. My rabbits love it.

Guinea pig approved!
Repeat buyer. Guinea pigs eat it well. Like the nice long strands and less waste by having dust and clippings that are very common in bags of hay. I did have one box a couple months ago that felt and looked more like pine needles and guinea pigs didn’t eat it. However 9 out of 10 boxes have been winners. Seems and smells fresher. Works best for not triggering my allergies/asthma over Timothy hay.

A disappointment!!
I actually had high hopes for this hay but my chinchillas, who aren't really picky at all about hay we're clearly not happy! They threw it all over and barely ate any, so I had to go buy some more after spending $50 on this! It's got a weird smell that I've never got from hay. And I've got 2 chinchillas and a rabbit so I know hay.... I do t recommend this hay at all!!!

Excellent quality. Buns love it
I am so pleased to find this brand because it is better quality than Small Pet Select & oxbow that my buns started to refuse to eat (yes, they’re bougie) & their usual brand (Viking Farmers) kept being sold out. Please keep it up! We just ordered 3 additional 10 lb boxes from this company and are now loyal customers.

First cut for cheap
This is a bulk box of first cut Timothy hay. I have several guinea pigs and rabbits and they all eat it happily. It smells fresh when the box is opened. I tend to "fluff" it to reduce the likelihood of trapped moisture to prevent mold as another review stated theirs had. It is a little drier than what you get in a bag as there is nothing to trap the moisture. This is a large box and 20lb is accurate. I have purchased a few times and have not been disappointed I plan to continue purchasing for the foreseeable future as this is the best price I have found short of cutting and bailing my own.

Great hay!
Fresh! Not yellow or brown! My rabbits love it. I was buying bags from the store (doesn't matter what store(s)), the quality and freshness was never consistent. If you're gonna spend money on food, you want your pet to eat it. I noticed when getting hay in a bag, from the store, if it wasn't fresh, they wouldn't eat it. Not mention a third of the bag was pure dust! Not grandpa's best!Is there dusty? Yes of course, it's hay, there will always be dust... never any more than just the bottom inch though. I've never had a bad box delivered to me. It's always fresh in smell, color and the rabbits would say fresh on taste as well. They've never turned their noses away to grandpa's best! It's mostly consistent on cut length too. There's some short pieces but it's mostly medium to longer pieces of hay in the boxes. It comes packed in there nicely. Sort of like mini bales, you'll need to fluff it up first.I keep mine in the box and it stays just as fresh... one giant box lasts me a month...for 6 netherland dwarf bunnies.

Fresh hay!!
Lately I’ve been getting bad hay from Kaytee and oxbow but grandpa’s best is fantastic!

Mostly hard straws
It's mostly stalks, not soft grass for eating. Lots of seed pods though. Will not purchase again!
