PoorBoys PB-WS08 Wheel Sealant 8oz, 236ml

If you care about your alloy wheels and want them to look great, the simple answer is ‘Yes’. However, as with most aspects of vehicle detailing there are many other options available. Protecting your wheels has to be one of the key reasons for using any wheel wax or sealant, others being visual enhancement & ease of cleaning in the future. This wheel sealant from Poorboys (PB) is easy to apply (using a foam applicator), it’s simple to see what parts have been covered (due to its bright pink colour), it buffs off well and produces a wonderful shine & smells great. For best results a do a full clean/clay/polish, then finish using the sealant. If you keep your wheels in good condition & clean them on a regular basis (every 2-weeks), I don’t think you’ll notice a big difference in how easy/quick future wheel cleaning will be, there was a ‘marginal’ improvement at best. However, if you clean them every (6-8 weeks or less & do a lot of driving) then the sealant will provide a real benefit, it repels dirt/grime/brake dust, preventing any strong bonding. The instructions say to apply 2-3 coats on first application (this will take approximately 60mins from Start to Finish, assuming dirty untreated wheels), and will require a single ‘top-up’ coat every-other-wash to maintain protection. If you already own a polymer paint sealant (PPS), use this on your wheels before purchasing a dedicated wheel sealant (just keep a separate applicator-pad ONLY for use on wheels), as this will provide a similar degree of protection, although the level of shine/gloss may not be as high as PB’s. If you don’t have a PPS then I can thoroughly recommend PB wheel Sealant, it’s a fantastic product, very easy to apply/remove, leaves a wonderful shine & best-of-all, will protect your wheels (helping to maintain the value & appearance of your vehicle).

Without the correct materials wheel cleaning is possibly the worst job when detailing. I was sceptical that this would be 'that good' even with a friend's recommendation. For the cost it’s not cheap, but it goes on easy, wipes off easy and so far after just one application has produced effortless cleaning. Highly recommend. I would like to add a couple more coats just to be sure the seal lasts the winter, but I'm very pleased. After using this now for over 4 years I wanted to update. This is the best product I use. I don’t dare deviate. I add it to cleaned, polished alloy wheels. It lasts ages! Have not calculated but I’m estimating at least 6 months. As long as you don’t use a detergent (washing up liquid) it’s marvellous stuff. I’m on my third tub and need a forth. My advice (I detail up to about 20 cars a year) buy this one. It’s great wheel wax.

Will reserve total judgement until it's fully used. The product is very soft, and in one breath it goes on easily, but I'm not convinced the tub will last all that long. So whilst I was happy that you get twice the volume of other brands for the same price, I wouldn't be surprised if I were to get through it twice as fast, if not faster. As I say, it goes on very easily, and buffs off nicely with a microfibre cloth (good one came with my purchase). It's for my wheels, so I don't care as much as I do for the body. And fairly glad that it is easy to apply and buff off, as my Collinite is hard work in comparison (although it lasts ages). Water beads off fast. So next test will be to see if the brake dust washes off easily (has the sealant provided full coverage; might need a few applications).

I didn’t have time to wash/dry my wheels when they were off my vehicle during a service, I cleaned them using this, it stripped off the brake dust and left them looking great, further brake dust hasn’t built up since, that was the 1st time/coat I’d applied, on/off easy with no residue. Even wiped of the tyres easily. Defo recommend this product 100%

Have tried it on my new car, followed the instructions cleaned and polished the wheels I have given it 3 applications early days but the wheels look great.

I dont get as long as others without having to clean wheels from what I can see in reviews but overall a good product. iTs better than wonder wheels spray. Lasts longer. Takes a while to buff in and clean. So gives yourself time. I dont often use it because its easier to use wonder wheels spray and I only get slightly less protection

Used this on refurbed alloys; the type of refurb that is more cosmetic and temporary. Using the sealant helps prevent water ingress into small pits/corrosion. This has helped increase the longevity of diamond cut wheels which are known for corroding very easily. Easy to apply, buffs easily with little effort. Water then beads on the wheels and runs off, makes cleaning the wheels easier. One tub lasts a long time (I apply once every two weeks, over the last 8-9 months) and I have half the tub left. You can layer it if you want more protection. Does not smear for me on dark alloys either which is a bonus, your mileage may vary...

werkt weliswaar als sealer, maar er zijn tegenwoordig betere producten, die veel makkelijker aan te brengen zijn. Zoals de Turtlewax hybrid ceramic sealer.

Easy on, easy off, works well at keeping the brake dust off. Doesn't last as long as some sealants, but it's good stuff and a good price. I definite must for the DIY car detailer.

Had never heard of this product and thought I'd give it a shot. Well worth the purchase, easy to apply onto the clean wheels and lasts awhile before having to reapply. Brake dust sprays right off with water.
