Gaz Campingaz Lumostar Plus Piezo Lantern

At first we were taken aback by the size... we simply didn't take it in and expected the lamp to be larger.Secondly, being a bit laid back, we just had a go at lighting it - as was - without reading the instructions - STUPID!!! It's VITAL to read the instructions as you have to attach the little net bag to the lamp and burn it to make a burnt-out, hard shell (mantle) which is what causes the brightness in the long run... it's really quite technical, fragile and scientific and it is essential to do this properly.However, all of this said, we LOVE the lamp; it is SUPER BRIGHT and REALLY EFFECTIVE! A SUPERB addition to our camping equipment and no regrets. It's literally like having a light on.

Been using one of these for camping\night fishing for along time now. very bright and as i've learnt to my cost in burns, they give off a hell of alot of heat haha! For interest, one 300ml (gr) cannister will last about 10 hours at medium setting. not bad i think. The only fiddle is replacing the mantles but mine have been good for 30hrs burn time between each replacement.. Highly recommended

Bought this to use in my beach hut.Ok I have re-chargeable battery lanterns but there is something nostalgic about a gas lamp. (brings back memories of my childhood caravan holidays!!!)Product appears wll made and comes with a little zipped case for when the box becomes tatty. Fitting and "burning in" of the mantle was no problem and I was soon out in the garden testing light levels!!Disposable valved gas cartridge twists and clicks on to the light and you are ready to go. The Piezo ignition alleviates the search for matches, which are usually damp when extreme camping.

Great item once setup, lit up a very large 5 man tent with ease.Nice to place this in the middle of the tent to give good light instead of using small torches.Easy to carry round and comes with a small carry case to protect it.Recommended and other campers was impressed with it also.

Great lantern but there are no hanging chains and I can't work out how to contact the seller to ask for these missing parts.

The latest addition to my camping gaz range of products which I find excellent! My little stove has travelled with me wherever I have been and never let me down, so it was with some trepidation that I purchased the Lumostar Plus PZ, having read some of the reviews. I simply followed the instructions and set up the mantle easily and quickly, making sure not to touch it after burning and making sure that once burnt, the mantle would fit back into the globe. It will end up in whatever shape you set up, so be patient, allow it to burn itself out and pop it back into the globe, use the ignition button and voila-a cracking, warm, comforting, bright light that beats any battery light and gives a little warmth too.I think Lumo and I will be good friends for a long time!

Got mine. Arrived in perfect condition from Amazon. Worked first time. So far, so good....but....the glass globe( which I knew was vulnerable from the reviews here) rattled around all over the shop, especially when being lifted by the chain. What a pain, trying to put the thing back in position after being carried. It got knocked over , once, on the ground. Despite the wire safety cage, the globe broke. Knowing the difficulties of replacement, I happened to be in a camping store and bought a Lumostar Plus with the object of using its globe as a replacement.....which I did....and everything worked fine.....but.....having noticed the more robust construction and solidity of the Lumostar, swapped the globe back to that....because of the more reliable and solid feel(it has a solid wire bail and not a chain) which gave me greater confidence. I have lost the piezo ignition facility, but instead have reliability , solidity and better protection of the glass globe and mantle. I've always been a big fan of Camping Gaz designs but as far as I am concerned, they fouled up badly, in making the jump from Lumostar Plus to Lumostar Plus PZ.I have quite a bit of experience with gasoline and pressure lamps and their use in camping conditions. The Lumostar Plus is a good value-for- money product....the PZ.....I am not so sure about. Shame they altered the basic design.

Loved this product, having had several power cuts recently, and realised we needed more lamps, so several rooms can be illuminated. 91 year old Mum loves crosswords, and there is plenty of light for her to see by

Va muy bien, la única pega es que el enganche me parece un poco débil, por el resto va perfecto.

...im Garten und für Outdoor- Aktivitäten.Dies ist meine erste Lampe dieser Art, habe vorher zur Beleuchtung meißt Fackeln benutzt, die mir aber auf die Dauer recht teuer wurden.Diese Lampe hier habe ich wegen der Piezozündung erworben und bin auch recht zufrieden damit.Die 206 L steht recht gut auf dem Tisch, etc. und an der Stabilität kann ich auch nichts aussetzen.Der Glühstrumpf war leicht aufzuziehen und die Kartuschen werden einfach nur in das Gehäuse eingesteckt.Beim Anzünden knallt es zwar hin und wieder mal etwas, da es zur Verpuffung kommt... aber das mag an mir liegen, leider fehlt bei dieser Lampe die Piezozündung.Die Lichtregelung/ Helligkeit ist sehr gut, allerdings wird der Lampekopf seht heiß... aber dadurch werden auch läßtige Mücken gleich gegrillt!!Wie lange der Glühstrumpf hält, kann ich noch nicht genau sagen... kommt aber scheinbar auf Erschütterungen an, habe mir aber gleich mal nen Glühstrumpf Größe S als Reserve und einen Kartuschenadapter, Campingaz, Stechkartusche, Adapter für die preisgünstigeren, kleinen Kartuschen mitbestellt.Alles in Allem eine günstige und gute Gaslampe, wie ich finde.
