Spider Killer Spray 300 ml - Fast-Acting Crawling Insect Control, Home & Office (Pack of 1)

I'm probably more scared of spiders than death which is why I had to buy this. I sleep and do all my work in a small, but cosy, room at the bottom of the garden from my house. The spiders are pretty big down here and are constantly making their way into my room to a point where I'm removing at least 3 big spiders and countless of smaller spiders every night. That's when I thought about buying some sort of repellent to prevent the spiders coming in, and lead me to here. I've read a lot of the reviews on here, good ones and the bad ones, but as the majority of them are good, I considered in buying this. Best choice of my life, this thing works like a charm (And also kills spiders instantly if sprayed at them, so if you don't like killing spiders, try to avoid spraying them directly). I first used this on the outside door frame which immediately drove at least 5 spiders around it to scatter. I've now sprayed the corners of my room, around the window and the inside of the door frame which so far has worked very well. If you are petrified of spiders and can't deal with taking them out constantly every night, then you should definitely buy this product. It's cheap, works very well and keeps you safe. The only downside to this is the smell. It smells a bit like furniture polish, very strong and probably bad for non-ventilated rooms, but other than that it's a great product for removing spiders (Like literally, they run for their lives!). tl;dr Good product, works well but smells bad and not recommended for non-ventilated rooms.

I won't lie I hate spiders and hate September/October time when they seem to arrive in droves! The last couple of years seem to have been the worst ever, there was one in our bath that was the biggest we'd ever seen, and most nights they'd seem to be on the stairs, the worst possible place as you can't be sure whether they'd run at you or scurry off into one of the bedrooms. They were all huge too. I tried those electronic things which you plug in that are meant to release sound waves that scare spiders away but don't waste your money, they don't work. However this spray does! It is important you use the spray in the right places and use it 2 or 3 times a week in 'peak' spider season. Have heard some say it isn't as effective in garages and porches or on outside security lights but in terms of inside the house itself the difference is amazing, at least for us! It's easy to use, I use it 3 times a week in peak spider season on air vents where, depending on the type you have obviously, they get in more than you'd realise, around all doors, especially the main front and back doors/patio etc, and on skirting boards. Another tip is if you have one of those draft excluder snake type things, spray it on that and shove it against the front and back door once everyone is home for the evening. We have only seen one spider so far and it was fairly small, we have however found 3 or 4 dead ones including a huge one that still looked scary! If you do see a live one then spray this on them and it will eventually either chase them out or kill them. I love animals but hate spiders and am hearing more and more stories of people being bitten by them including a man not that far away from me who was hospitalised and put on a drip.. shudder. If used correctly this really does make a difference, beware though the smell when you spray is quite strong at first but soon fades. We have cats but none have been affected by this either. Pricey but the only product I've found to work.

I purchased this product after an invasion of giant house spiders this year. The pest control officer said that there must have been a nest in the house. They were very large and would appear all over the place, including several crawling over my desk! Not very pleasant. I am hoping this product will do the trick. I will use it again from next August to see if I can stop the annual autumn invasion, but it has never been as bad as it was this year. UPDATE ON THIS PRODUCT: It's now October 11 and I started to use the Spider X spray several weeks ago when the giant beasties started coming into the house. Last year was terrible, absolutely HUGE spiders invading every day. Once I had sprayed liberally, I didn't see any spiders for a couple of days, then started to find them...DEAD. This spray might not keep them out completely, but it does kill the ones who come in. Also, there have been far less of them this year. As well as being a deterrent, it must also have some insecticide for spiders in it. This morning on having a good hoover around, we found six more large dead ones. I am going to buy this product again, as I think it's worth the money. I used to hoover up spiders with the SpiderVac, which is £9.99. But I think that once out in the garden, the crafty little critturs just used to come back into the house! Now I am going to spend the money on the spray instead.

It actually works. I wont copy the "recordings" of my experiment but before mean was (95% CI) between 2.7 and 3.2 spiders per week, and they were "good sizes" after ~ 1 spider per month. There's wooden boards outside my window and it's covered in cobwebs so they're still close! So yes, this actually works. I'm writing this because it's very easy to make people think stuff works (placebo effects, so forth) but no, it actually works, I recorded notes of the spiders I've found. I've only found 3 and I've had it for just under 3 months, and these have been much smaller (and also! Never crawled across my bed!) It's great. Previously I used to think "hah, I'll leave that big spider on the stairs, it'll be my sister's problem" and they'd always go the longest distance into my room, and I'd really hate it when they escaped my shoe-swipe and hid under my bed. That doesn't happen any more because I sprayed both the door frame and the windowsil. Some advice: 1) It takes a long time to dry, we have this idiot of a boxer (he's really loving and lovable, but properly thick) and he would lick the door frame anyway, so shut dogs away while it dries if you sprayed it in reach; just for safety. 1.B) While drying, if you did spray a bedroom, try and keep the air moving, again just for safety, if you open a window at one side of the house, and all the doors between it and your room and your window, you will get an air current moving. It takes in the order or 4-8 hours. 2) The particles of the spray are quite slow and heavy, so if you're doing say a window frame you will get some blowback, try and go for still air if you can. 3) I've resprayed the window once every 2 months, it's on the side that rarely gets rained on but does get the sun, I suspect it /could/ evaporate off.

Not strong enough for false widows, seems to stun them for a second until they get second wind and take off running. OK for stunning but keep a slipper in hand to finish the job. Also of spraying above you, the spiders will fall down towards you. Spray leaves a white oily substance behind.

Every time a spider decides to intrude in my home I either have to torch the house to the ground or move. Both of which are very expensive methods to deal with these arrogant invaders so a new method of destruction was needed. I recently moved into a converted barn. Oh the glee as I moved box after box into my new home, although I should've noticed it was kind of like the opening sequence to that early nineties classic Arachnophobia (banned from playing in my house) and cancelled the tenancy there and then. After a few blissful months and a cold August they started to appear. I kid you not, for a home made mostly of wood there are so many nooks a family of flesh eating, eight legged thugs can set up camp in so it wasn't long before i was made to feel unwelcome. The spiders this house attracts aren't those little things you mistake for flies, no, they're fully grown men in spider suits. Huge! They have tattoos, drink my beer and I've even caught them eating steak (at the table, by candlelight which was kind of cute but something I felt imposed a little considering they don't pay rent) anyway... I digress. So, these spiders are huge, a pint glass won't cover their leg span and if you do get them in they curl those hideous, long, spindly legs over the rim of the glass and leap out giving me the finger as they scuttle back to their nook full of dead bodies and steroids. So, my dear brother told me about this spray and how good it is, he said 'this spray is good' - for such an enthusiastic and articulate endorsement from him I decided it was worth dropping a tenner on it. Especially after having to remove eleven, yes, that was ELEVEN spiders from my bathroom in one in sitting. As soon as it arrived, I instantly noticed the bizarre font choice of comic sans- a font never acceptable in any circumstance and especially not on spider killer. The choice of font even made less sense to me than the picture of the ant looking sad but meh, I have spiders and they need dealing with so I moved on and sprayed it everywhere, doorways, window frames, all over the wood beams and every other crevice I could find. The smell isn't great, like bug spray, but really to me it just smells like spider death and I'm happy with that. First thing I noticed was a few bundles of wet, limp, shrivelled legs where spiders had made their way out but died crossing my spray boarders. (Or maybe I got it on them and didn't see) anyway, since spraying the reduction in spiders (and other creepy crawlies) has been amazing. They're still about (I had to get rid of one the size of my hand the other night) but they're now few and far between as opposed to when they literally re-spawned as soon as they were kicked out. This is a product I will genuinely continue to buy for the rest of my life... Me: 1 Soiders: 0

I bought some of this last year, so wanted to wait a while before writing a review, so as to be as honest as possible. Right then. This seems to work. Spider season before last (you know what spider season is, it's the time from mid August through to October where normal, sane people turn into gibbering wrecks with peripheral vision, so much so that even a random tomato stalk can send you screaming from the kitchen) I had 5 BEASTS in one evening and 2 smaller beasties. I was hysterical. Fortunately my son will remove for a quid a spider and 50p per small one, so he did well that night (I'd have given him £50, but don't tell him eh). It was so bad that my daughter had to call my husband back from work as "Mummy's hysterical on the sofa". 4 HUGE ones in the porch (air brick later sealed as it remains to this day) and 2 smaller ones, plus, after all that drama, another HUGE one in the front room just as my son thought it was okay to leave his wreck of a mother and go to bed. Could he find it; could he hell. He had the sofa upside down, shining a torch underneath, by which point my husband had returned home, not best pleased, but sympathetic to my phobia (his incidently is sharks, but we don't have much of a problem with them in Surrey) and eventually found said beast on the wall under the window going "yoo hoo, I'm here". Bastard. I tried the chestnut spray and the conkers and both seemed to help, but conkers tend to drop far too late to have any effect as by then they're in. Anyway, last spider season I sprayed a can and a half of this around my house, in every corner, around windows inside and out, under window sills, door frames and in a huge witch-like circle around my bed (you never know). It does smell, but frankly who cares. Not me. And not one HUGE beast did I see whatsoever and to this day, haven't had one since. The odd smaller one yes, but I can deal with them and dispose of them just in case they are the same breed as we all know where that would go. I do have 3 cats, but sadly both males are bone idle and if they're inside, they're both in a coma. We do however have a young female who can spot a speck of fluff at 60 feet, so I believe she may have helped proceedings somewhat, but I aim to use to this forever now. I'd happily bathe in it to be honest if it meant I never had to see another spider again. I will happily deal with mice, rats, beetles, slugs ... hell, even a snake, but if you're like me, trust me, give this stuff a go as it does work and my son quite frankly can get a Saturday job.

Bought a can of Spiderex after an influx of sizeable false window spiders (had it confirmed by national history museum) decided to make their homes all over our patio doors and windows. It certainly does the trick, when sprayed on an offending spider, it seems to make them shrivel up and sort of 'dry out'. I tend not to hang around after spraying them, as initially it does make them go quite frantic, which is not for the fainthearted. I would usually would not condone this type of method due to cruelty reasons, but due to the numbers of these false widow spiders and size of them, sadly we have had no other option. The spray is also excellent when used as a preventative measure, spray it around door frames, window frames and the spiders wont make homes there. The only negative is that it is certainly not 'odorless' as described, it has quite a pungent & potent poison type smell, if using inside best to air out area where you've sprayed it, which is why I have rated it only 4 stars as opposed to 5, but otherwise, it does what it says on the tin and is an effective way of preventing spiders.
