Pet Remedy - the miracle remedy for stressed pets
Brilliant product! Had to buy this 'in an emergency' some months ago as I was getting desperate to try anything to help a new cat settle with my existing two - and had tried everything else. Myself and a few friends have the 'difficult to home' rescues - the ones that no one else would take due to their behaviour so it is always a slower process than normal to get these pets really settled. This seemed to be the first product that has actually helped. After the experience with my 'new cat' introductions I have used it with friends who have dogs who are nervous around Bonfire Night, with stressed rabbits, with another friend who's dog gets too excited about everything! That particular dog would be a nightmare if I was in the car with them - she would clamber all over me for how ever long the journey was - so I'd regularly have an hour or so of being trampled (which was not just unpleasant but also dangerous). The first time I used it on her I just sprayed some on a flannel and as soon as she started just gave her the flannel to tug at (in stead of my clothes) and it worked like a charm - within seconds she was already calmer and in under 5 minutes she was the most relaxed in the car that she had ever been. Since then I won't be around any 'skittish' animals without having this product handy as it really does work and makes situations a lot less stressful for them. It has a very 'unusual' aroma - which can take a bit of getting used to - but it just smells 'natural' - sort of strangely herbal (which I find much better than synthetic chemicals of some others.) I am so confident in this product that on this occasion I have bought multiple bottles so that other friends with problem pets can use this too. It really has helped every pet - cat, dog or rabbit - that I have used it on.

From Synthetic Chemicals to a "Layered Calm": The Safe Choice for a Lifetime
As we move through 2026, my perspective has shifted from "what works in the moment" to "what is safe for a lifetime." I recently had a massive "aha" moment regarding synthetic pheromone diffusers. Discovering they often rely on isoparaffinic hydrocarbons (petrochemicals)—substances that are aspiration hazards and toxic to aquatic life—was a turning point. I couldn't reconcile "calming" my dogs with exposing their sensitive respiratory systems to petroleum-derived chemicals. I’ve since switched to Pet Remedy as a natural, plant-based aid within my broader "Layered Calm" Strategy. 🧬 THE SCIENCE: HOW IT WORKS (WITHOUT THE CHEMICALS) What convinced me to switch was the biological mechanism. Unlike synthetic pheromones, Pet Remedy works with the GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid) pathway. The Valerian and Vetiver compounds help "trick" over-stimulated nerve cells into thinking they are receiving a calming message. It lowers the heart rate and reduces "fired-up" energy naturally, without making the dog drowsy or "drugged." ☯️ MY "LAYERED CALM" STRATEGY: BUILDING ON OUR BOND • True security shouldn't come from a bottle. I use a multi-layered approach that builds on the bond I have with my dogs: • THE "SAFETY SCENT" & TACTILE ANCHOR: The most powerful pheromone is YOU. I use my recently worn T-shirts or their favorite blankets. I’ve also added the Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Toy 🐶❤️(ASIN: B000C9YHFS) for physical warmth and a mimicking heartbeat. • BIO-ACOUSTIC THERAPY: 🎶 We’ve traded the hum of a diffuser for the science of sound. I play music engineered for canine ears, like Through a Dog's Ear (ASIN: 1591796423) or The Mozart Effect (ASIN: B00000DA1O). • ACTIVE ADRENALINE RELEASE: 🐾 Stress lives in the body. We use light play and nose-work to turn nervous energy into a game that reinforces trust. • PET REMEDY AS THE FINISHING TOUCH: This spray is our "herbal" layer. It’s pH neutral, eco-safe, and supports their system without the chemical baggage. FIRST WEEK OBSERVATIONS: TWO DOGS, TWO CHOICES I sprayed this on their bedding and saw two distinct reactions. One dog walked away for 5 minutes, then returned and settled (preferring the scent once dissipated), while the other immediately chose to roll in it. These choices must be respected. Watch your dog’s reaction and tailor your plan accordingly. ⭐ PRO-TIP: CONDITION A POSITIVE RESPONSE Dogs are smart. If you only use this during fireworks, they will learn to dread the smell. Build positive associations: Use the spray frequently when they are already calm and happy. By conditioning a positive emotional response before the stress hits, you set them up for true success. Final Verdict: Pet Remedy is a fantastic, non-toxic tool, but it isn't a miracle. It is an aid that supports the groundwork you put into your relationship. If you want a safe, eco-friendly lifestyle for your pets, this is the gold standard.

Well it definitely doesn't do nothing
I have two cats. One went nuts when her sister died and started peeing around the house when we bought her a new kitten for company. They get on really well now but the peeing didn't stop. She is neurotic and screams all the time to go out, then comes in again and screams again. The kitten is really chill. So I got this spray because the Feliway spray works well, but the Feliway plug in does nothing, and the Feliway spray is SO expensive. So if this works for you it is great value for money. I thought it smelled nice but my teenage daughter started yelling 'that is disgusting!!! Have you got covid???'. So you can smell it, it's a very noticeable smell but to me it's a little fruity and herby and pleasant. But your mileage may vary. Now here's how the cats acted. The kitten came in and instantly her tail fluffed up and then she fluffed up into a ball and she went everywhere the spray has gone smelling it and walking super super low to the ground and generally seeming terrified. The neurotic cat just started howling and looking for places to pee. So many cats seemed to be famed by valerian and it's included in so many "calming" sprays and supplements and so I can't give it too low a mark, because the people with those cats are not lying. But for me it's an absolute wash out.

It Actually Works :-) :-) :-)
In October 2015 a friend of mine gave me a little of this spray that she had left as I’d one very nervous Shetland Sheepdog who was just less than 1 year old, (he was frightened of anything strange that moved, he was even frightened of his own shadow when the sun was out). Our youngest had already started taking skullcap and valerian in tablet form in early September but that wasn’t enough on its own, as he was still a little jumpy at certain things in strange places. So we started using this spray on his fur when he was going somewhere different and before he went to obedience class. It’s worked extremely well and has helped him immensely. It really relaxes him and he’s able to cope with everyday life as he’s not keen on loud and unfamiliar noises, it’s giving him the confidence to explore his world a little more outside the safety of his home without being terrified of things he’s not seen or heard before. The spray does have a pungent smell when first sprayed but it soon disappears. This isn’t just for dogs but can be used on cats, rodents, horses and birds. The main ingredients of the spray are a special proven blend of Valerian essential oil, blended with Vetivert, Basil Sweet and Sage. It’s safe to spray directly on your pet, but not recommended where they can lick it off. You can also to spray on bedding, carpet, soft furnishings and in your car, (onto a dog cover). I can highly recommend it as it’s certainly helped our little Sheltie and he’s certainly more relaxed in his everyday life. :-)

Spray to calm my cat before vet visits
Helps a lot to make my 20 year old cat feel calmer before a visit to the vet or when other changes occur I just spray a little bit of it on the place she spends most of her time. She feels a lot calmer. Very helpful to have.

I had an allergic reaction, company won’t reply
Short review: this smells absolutely awful, didn’t calm my dog, gave me an allergic reaction, and the company still has not replied despite me telling them that I almost ended up in a&e from their product. Don’t trust Thors dog with this company. More detailed: I bought this because my dog gets anxious when the fireworks start around the autumn. Stupid people in my neighbourhood set them off from mid-Oct to mid January, randomly, whenever they feel like it. It’s awful. Following the instructions, I sprayed a bandana with two sprays and put it around my dog’s neck. The smell is noxious. Both he and I hated the smell. It did nothing to calm my dog. If anything, he was even more alert because of the horrible smell. More importantly, I immediately started having trouble breathing. After half an hour, I had gone into full allergic reaction. Hives, gasping for breath, eyes watering, etc. I probably should have gone to a&e, it was this bad. The next day, I found the company website. Emailed and said that I need to know what is in this so I can narrow down what was making me not breathe for the doctors, and for myself so I know what to avoid. No threats or anything from me, just ‘this made me struggle to breathe and that I needed the info asap.’ No reply. They do list a phone number, but I am deaf and live alone, so I have no one who can call for me. Continued to have breathing problems for the next few days. Washed my dog’s clothes, gave my dog a bath, but I could still smell it and still struggled to breathe. I’ve washed the clothes for a second time. Emailed them again requesting info for ingredients. No reply. They also wouldn’t allow a return. Amazon finally kindly refunded me on this item. At least they asked if I was okay or not— haven’t even received a message from the company asking if I’m okay. Still, no reply from the company over a week later. I made it very clear in those emails that this was a severe situation. You might not get an allergic reaction from this product. I hope not!! And the company cannot control whether I am allergic to the product or not. But the fact that the company refuses to respond despite getting 2 emails, both saying I was struggling to breathe after using the item, that tells me a lot about them. Because of this, I would not trust the company. I wouldn’t trust my dog to this company, nor myself.

Efectivo

Overall calming effect, worth continuing.
I’m typically skeptical about these kinds of untested remedies for behavior, but thought I’d give this a try. I have four adult cats, three of which are siblings, and am fostering three rambunctious kittens, also all siblings. Two of the adults really hadn’t adjusted well to the presence of the kittens, let alone to their activity levels. Lots of hissing and swatting, anxiety displays, and hiding under the bed. Since using this spray, very judiciously, there’s been a noticible effect on the two adult cats anxiety displays. Less hissing, less swatting, overall reduced aggression toward the kittens and each other. I spray their sleeping/lounging areas in the living room in the morning and again in the evening when I return from work. My work from home partner has reported considerably improved levels of calm and sociability, especially in the two most stressed adults. The one, who has always been the one picked on by everyone else, has also demonstrated increased general sociability, she’s hiding less, coming out looking for cuddles more, and overall more peaceably interacting with the kittens. There’s a kind of feedback loop I’ve noticed. The less she hisses and runs, the less the kittens and others give chase, the less she feels like she has to run and hide, the more she’s out with everyone else. Some people have remarked that it stinks...nope, it has a really nice earthy herbal smell, almost like yarrow blossoms, though this is not in the ingredient list. Using the spray, you can control when and where the aroma arises, but it’s the herbal aroma that induces the calming....also, I find it a rather soothing aroma for myself, after a long day at work, I’m finding I feel better after spraying the living room, too. My friend wants to try it on her rambunctious toddler! Mammals, right?
