Not a hardwood handle
On 1st use, the handle broke. It is stained to look like hardwood, but obviously is softwood. A replacement isn't going to work if it is also softwood, so I purchased an ash hardwood handle for £6.47 and 10 rivets for £5.60 to repair. The blade is fine, albeit needs sharpening with a grinder, but with all those adjustments, saves the hassle of returning and trying a more expensive alternative.Update - full refund provided, happy now

Does the job. I previously had a steel handle half moon, This one is not as robust but if used sensibly and with the ash shaft oiled I expect long usageAfter 6 months the half moon broke across the neck. The reason is that this part is cast. Personally I.consider this to be a weakness in the design of the tool. I have also put up a photograph to show clearly where the neck snapped (because of the material used) Cast metal snaps fairly easily as can be seen. The picture taken is looking straight down on the break with the half moon below. My thanks to Amazon who refunded the purchase cost.

Deeply disappointing product & customer service
I purchased this as a birthday gift for my son in 2020 and paid £29.99. It was used for the first time this May 2021 to edge a recently laid small lawn. As my photo shows its shaft broke in half before its job was completed. Amazon tells me it is no longer eligible for a refund and I now see the same product is being offered by the same supplier at a substantial discount. Altogether a very disappointing experience - I will certainly think again before doing business with this supplier and will avoid Rolston products wherever they may be available.

Good, but probably not for anything too heavy duty
I bought this to dig out a border. The ground itself was quite hard, but this got through it reasonably well, although I was concerned that too much pressure on the handle might have bent the blade. It stayed in one piece however and did it's job.Good, but probably not for anything too heavy duty.

Poor Quality Product - not robust enough!!
I'm normally pretty good at purchasing good enough quality products at a reasonable price but this slipped through the net!! On the first day I used it, I edged about 10 metres of lawn and the metal neck snapped (see photo) rendering useless, and thus a waste of £14.I ended up purchasing the Bulldog half-moon spade - sooooo much better - it's a bit more expensive but at least I finished edging my lawn and I feel it will last me my lifetime and beyond - worth paying the extra!!

Smooth handle
Arrived on time, does what it is supposed to.I'm hoping this one will last as long as my last garden fork. Nicely crafted & is smooth on my hands.

OK
It does its job.It did deform a bit after some use but that was probably because I was going through extremely rough grass after dry spell..
