Fills the gap between manual sawing and chainsaw
Came next day via Amazon Prime and was well packaged.I bought this with the intention of cutting a lot of logs and wood for my wood burner. I've used a Bow Saw for years but I have a large amount of wood that has built up and I don't fancy standing for hours on end cutting manually and a chainsaw is frankly a bit overkill and potentially dangerous for the light home use I need.As such I was interested if this would fill the gap between manual sawing and full on chainsaw. I bought it along with the Bosch Saber Blades which are aimed at cutting logs etc. The saw also comes with a wood blade in the box but it's a smaller 6" blade for small jobs to get you started. Some people gave 1 star and said it didn't come with a blade, but I had no problem noticing a blade packaged next to the saw so not sure about those reviews. The saw feels pretty robust, I was going to go for a B&D Scorpion, but always felt that Bosch were a better quality and also some reviews of the Scorpion said it was very underpowered, so I went for this even at the higher price and so far am glad I did.Fitting the saw blades couldn't be easier. Flick the lever upwards on the mounting bracket and it allows the blade to be inserted in easily. Then release the spring loaded lever and the blade is held firmly in place. No screws to break or damage which is a nice design.I started off with some smaller branches, around 3" in diameter and the saw cut through them with no issues. I then moved onto the bigger logs around 10" in diameter and was impressed it handled it no problem. I think it will easily handle even bigger logs and will be moving onto those later, but so far am really pleased with the performance. Some have said these are underpowered or need too much pressure etc, but I think it's missing the point. These aren't for world record wood cutting attempts. If you need to cut a lot of wood quickly with heavy duty tools, then maybe consider a chain saw. These saws work well if you (as the old saying goes) let the tool do the work. I found pressing on too hard caused a lot of vibration to be sent through my hands and also caused poor cutting. A light touch and being patient with the saw will see it smoothly cut through big logs with ease. It might not be as quick as some might like, but it certainly beats sweating away with a bowsaw in my opinion.I cant comment on it's use with metal etc but I have bought a multipack of blades which includes metal blades and demolitions blades etc and I can't see why this would be an issue. The saw is powerful enough for general use but give it time and don't be tempted to try to rush by pushing hard on the blade.Overall I'm really pleased with this purchase. The saw is a nice size and weight, decent power and works extremely well for cutting logs that to be honest I thought might be too big for it.

Best thing I have bought
This is so easy to use.Great saw, and takes the effort out of cutting. Invaluable to anyone with a project. The blade that came with it has lasted a long time and has been used to build an entire pergola. The downside is when a respective neighbour dad walks by you have to switch to the manual hand saw, just to show your dominance, but once he has gone you can move back to this saw and revel in the ease of cutting.

Good sturdy reciprocating saw
Solid and sturdy. No issues with the blade release. Came with only one blade, which was a surprise.Easy and simple to use, if quite weighty but that's all to the good as you tend to adopt a good stance to hold it. Used for sawing up Victorian floor boards after they were lifted by a carpenter and has made dealing with them much easier.Takes a little getting used to in use and can kick back a bit but once you've got used to that it is a great tool. Buy good blades, though, not cheapies!

Powerful tool
This is a great piece of kit on a domestic level. I needed it to cut up pallets and it demolishes them easily. It needs two hands to really do it justice and keep control. The motor is a powerful piece of kit and really delivers a strong forward and backwards motion. This is Bosch so you’d expect nothing less. You need to learn how to handle it properly but that shouldn’t take you too long. You can buy different blades for different tasks and it comes with a single blade but l ordered a 5 pack of slightly longer blades and they do the business. This tool needs to be used in context - ie it’s not for finer accurate cutting. It’s a demolition / take no prisoners tool. I’m glad l bought it and would definitely recommend it
