ScotchBluePainter's Masking Tape - Original Multi Surface – Blue Crepe Paper, 1 Roll, 24mm x 55m

This tape works great and gets a lovely crisp, straight line - you just have to make sure that the paint is completely dry and then sometimes it seems to help if you run along the tape with a Stanley knife for a really smooth straight line. Paint does not seem to soak into the tape at all and it is thick enough to stop accidental brush strokes. Very easy to use and sticks well, good size and value - can be used in a variety of locations, very versatile.

The media could not be loaded. I’m currently decorating my lounge. Ordinarily I would be replacing the carpet on any room I’m decorating but in this case I’m not so I needed a way to protect it when painting my skirting boards. This is a medium tack tape especially for textured surfaces so I was hopeful it would stick to my carpet. It worked perfectly. It was strong enough that I could ease it down between the carpet and skirting board using the decorators blade shown in my photo but you could use a scraper. It tears by hand and is quite malleable and it’s strong too and nice and wide. I’ve since painted my skirting boards and got no paint on the carpet. I see that people had used this on newly painted walls and it pulled off the paint. Personally I won’t be using this in that way . I prefer to use a low tack tape not medium tack but the full info on this product does say to scour the tape before removing it from walls so that might help with this. I cannot confirm if that would be the case as I haven’t used it that way. The tape I’ve got left will be very useful for my art projects. Great for keeping tracing paper in place whilst preparing patterns for pyrography…I have tested this and it’s fab. It peels off the tracing paper without ripping it. So in conclusion this tape was fantastic for my needs and I’d definitely use it again. Good value for money as it goes a long way.

I ordered this as my current tape is a bit too sticky (yes there is such a thing!).I use this type of tape in art work to create borders or section bits off, and usually use the trick where you quickly stick it to fabric (a sleeve etc) and whip it off again before use, but it still tends to tear the paper.This blue version was recommended by a fellow painter (of pictures), and I'm really pleased with it.It sticks well enough, but also comes off more easily without tugging at the paper.Very happy to recommend.Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

I had to paint our hallway woodwork an that had 5 door ways off it and I knew my ability to run masking tape around each door frame and skirting board would be a challenge. I purchased a ScotchBlue Painters Tape Applicator, and ordered the ScotchBlue Multi-Surface Premium Masking Tape, 36 mm x 41 m, 4 Rolls/Case.I left the masking tape on for 3 days - 2 undercoats and 2 top coats - no bleed through or creeping under the edges and very straight lines. It did however pull the smallest amount of paint off the wall in one or two places - I have purchased Green Frog tape in the past and that pulled the paint off the whole length of the wall it was used on, so I don't think this is bad and in fact I am quite please that there was minimal paint removed from the wall.

I love this stuff- now halfway through my fourth reel and will buy more of the same when needed. For the most part sticks just the right amount - if anything, it tends to fail towards removing underlying paint rather than allowing leakage under but nothing serious so far. I find it much better than Frog, which I’ve tried in the past (and much cheaper if you buy 4 rolls at a time I suspect). I used to mask only things like switches and sockets, and do my best to paint the long straights along ceilings and skirting- now I mask everything by default- the time lost masking is more than made up in faster painting, and the results are much better.

I didn’t expect to see a difference, but this stuck to plastic window surrounds, and gave clean lines elsewhere, and came off easy

this stuff is very good from my keyboard brackets to the loose brackets you also used it for art stuff by spray painting pretty good
