I have an area of about 1 inch wide x 16 inches long would this be useful to use as a canel product.?

This item is only 200ml so you can have a small layer of the Water effect in your canel, if you would like a larger volume product I would recommend looking at the Woodland Scenics range.

How is this applied, do you need anything extra or do you just pour this on a selected area?

Hi, no just pour on where you want. I used it to create puddles in a trench system I built and to give a wet look to some muddy areas. If you are planning to use for a deep area I suspect you would need to apply in layers but looks fine as a water effect once dried

Would I be able to create a waterfall

No I didn't, I used hot glue gun for that, it was great for the pool in front of the waterfall though also used for a duck pond, put foil, colour and small stones first for the pond in front of waterfall, just use your imagination and your own ideas they are the best.
