Brilliant product
Great product! When soaked it swells to create a decent 4-5" barrier. Can be stacked to make a taller barrier but this has worked well for my needs. Also the really bright colour makes it easy to see so less of a trip hazard when used across doorways. Easy to store spares for when you need them.

Good but expensive.
Fair size and soak up water. Use as a backup behind another barrier Might be too light and small for more exposed areas.

Reliable
I use this to stop water entering my garage (it’s on a slope). I replaced old ones yesterday morning as they don’t last forever (4 months tops). Last night we had exceptionally heavy rain fall, the worst in years and the hydro snake did the job and kept the garage dry. I’m really happy and just ordered another pack. Sand bags are really hard work to fill and heavy to place and they also fall apart after a while so these are an excellent option (but not cheap).

Will be buying again
I bought these in 2017 after experiencing a blocked drain overflowing and water flooding into the house. Unfortunately the drain became blocked again and water started entering the house, I'm so so glad I had these on hand. Quickly deployed and it absorbed so much of the water that was coming in. Made a huge difference. I shall be repurchasing to have on hand for any future incidents.

Works quickly when needed in an emergency
This purchase was an absolute life saver for us this weekend. I purchased a few of these and kept them in the loft as we have a small stream on our property. This weekend the pump station up the road failed and sewer water poured into our house up through our toilet. Although the water board did attend within 2 hours, if it were not for these bags the entire house would have been flooded. As such only our bathroom will need replacing. Thank God we had them! Light weight and easy to store but bulked up quickly when needed. Highly recommend and will be replacing once the insurance has paid out.

Can only be used once
They took in a lot of water, but then became very heavy and we had to drag them outside water pouring out of them as we did - better off just using sand bags at least they dry out and can be used again

It really works! So far at least.
I am always dubious about products which make all sorts of claims about their effectiveness but, so far at least, the Hydrosnake seems to do what it says on the tin. We have a slightly sloping driveway adjacent to a busy road and in heavy rain (last Saturday for instance) HGVs and buses send water deluging down our driveway and into our garage. It only happens about twice a year but that's twice too often. I only used one of the two Hydrosnakes which come in the pack but within about a minute of getting wet it had turned into what is essentially three-section sandbag. Downside: At £21 for a pack of two I thought they were quite expensive. They are not re-usable in the sense that they don't deflate again but they do remain as basically sandbags which apparently can be used again for up to six months. They are pretty heavy when wet, and I am guessing at around 20-25 kilos for each of the two Hydrosnakes in the pack. So, users will need some strong muscles and plenty of storage space to keep them ready for the next downpour. It wasn't a really heavy downpour last Saturday - we have had worse - so I will reserve my final verdict until the heavens really open and I have to use both of them.
