Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700 Ultimate Graphic 7-band Equalizer

I thought I would try a behringer pedal and £25 for a graphic EQ seemed a good place to start. It works and works well. For the money you can't complain, useful pedal for variety of things as EQ pedals are. Yes it could be metal yes it could have centred sliders but it doesn't fly to the moon either it's £25 and works well probably close to free second hand. If this is your budget you won't be disappointed. I have a lot of pedals from higher price points and just wanted to see what behringer were like and not disappointed, bought the fuzz as well and having fun with that also.

The best £21 I have spent on guitar kit.....I bought this to eliminate the harsh/unpleasant frequencies from running a Line 6 POD HD 400 pedal through studio monitors at home, which had previously made the experience unrewarding. With the more expensive HD500, there is an ability to use an on board EQ, but not with the HD400. Using this EQ pedal eliminates all those nasty noises and makes the Pod much more of an amp substitute, certainly for home practice. I could not be more pleased. The Behringer is supposed to be pretty much a clone of the much more expensive Boss pedal and whilst I have not tried that, I am very pleased with the results from this Behringer. Yes, the case is plastic, but it is very strong plastic and I would guess that you would need a hammer to damage it. I would not hesitate to recommend for anyone looking to improve a modelling amp/pedal....

Firstly, it works and certainly greatly improves the sound from your amp and, of course, any EQ pedal is better than none. Buy it if you're on a budget and you shouldn't really be disappointed. In any event, your basic rig should contain a Tuner, EQ and a Looper. You could, of course, just get a Joyo American Sound which does a similar job, or get both!

I never understood how to use an equaliser properly, too many dials, I now have a better understanding of the larger EQ's. The Behringer EQ700 is basic but highly, and I mean HIGHLY EFFECTIVE. It has a huge impact for it's size, and is very cheap, £25. Access to the battery compartment is a little fiddly, but not a problem. I like to give praise where it's due because I will quickly criticise when a product is terrible.

Budget pedals, Behringer especially, get a really bad rap as a whole. I'm an advocate of budget pedals and it is important I make that really clear and have used Behringer before too. They serve a specific purpose and my review is pitched as such and will not be making a blow by blow comparison to the Boss on which this is based. It wouldn't be fair or appropriate to. This 7 band EQ pedal works. It serves the purpose I got it for. Which was to 1) experiment with an EQ to see if I could make use of one 2) have an alternative clean tone readily available and not have to mess with core settings on my amp and 3) be able to 'tune' for the room when I playing live. This EQ has done all that really well. If you are considering an EQ chances are you have researched how to use one so I will not go into how it sounds from the point of view. Just know that it works as intended for sound sculpting like any other 7 band EQ with the same dB cut/ gain too and it works just as effectively. The inclusion of an overall output level is great giving you more flexibility too - often something left out at this price point. I use it infrequently so the more flimsy build quality isn't a problem for me right now as I am not switching it on and off regularly enough to break it. I have also deliberately put it on my board in a place that requires a bit of a gentle tip toe to switch it on and off. So again, I'm minimising the risk of breaking it from being heavy footed. Some things to consider: -It IS built to it's price point, you must factor this in. -The sliders have little resistance and it's very easy to knock them with just a guitar cable brushing them. -It will break if you're heavy footed with it because it is all plastic and all the internal control mounts are too. -You can clearly see (and feel) where they have compromised the build for the price point. -It is appreciably noisier than other units even with only a few dB boost on the mids. However, if you have your expectations in check before you click buy, the above should not be an issue and I will not mark it down for it. One thing I will mention though is signal loss. Again, this is because it is a budget pedal but it is something I feel warrants a mention as it is a fundamental tone thing. Plugging this into my signal chain had a very appreciable impact on upper mids and trebles with a darkening of the tone even when switched off . Thinking it was simply the 'tipping point' for signal loss on my existing six pedal setup I ran direct into the EQ pedal and then the amp with my shortest cables. The same darkening. I'm lucky that I already have an always on buffer unit on a larger board to fix this, but this is quite a significant thing when you consider it is aimed at budget user who may not have a dedicated buffer. Or even know about them. The more expensive 'buffered' pedals on the smaller board couldn't compensate enough for the signal loss from the Behringer either. Which makes it hard for me to REALLY recommend it. I'm an advocate of budget pedals. They make experimenting affordable and I wish they had been about 35 years ago when I got started and I still buy budget now when I am experimenting myself. Either selling or passing them on when no longer needed. However, there are times when the more expensive version is the better starting point and in this case I think it might be true. A second hand Boss GE7 is still double the price of this new, but even if you decide it isn't for you it will retain the value you got it for and will be easy to sell on and unless you get a severely beat up one, there is little risk with buying second hand Boss stomp box format. Having A/B'd the Behringer and the Boss, there is no appreciable signal loss with the GE7 and on this occasion, I'd say go for the Boss.

Never owned an EQ pedal before despite being a guitar player since 1989. I can now see the use they have and although I do not use it all the time it certainly is being used. I opted for this pedal because of the price at just £23 it was worth a try. The pedal is plastic and I think for gigging I would go for a metal case just for the extra reassurance of it being robust. At the moment I use it at home for studio work only. If you are curious about an EQ pedal then I recommend trying this one.

Bought as a budget buy to roll some of the treble off on my Marshall JMD1 - located graphic in the effects loop pre power amp and after amp tone. Works a treat low noise and does what it says on the tin. TBH it's as low noise as the MXR graphic I use with my main amps - so in summary a great sound and a bargain at the price

The cheapest pedal I've got in my rig and my favourite. Does exactly what it should be doing. You can give yourself a plethora of those frequencies to experiment with your tone, or just even boost and cut to find your sweet spot. Pedal is plastic obviously but I had no problem at all so far. Though my 4star review is awarded as such due to the reason of its plastic design only which is really irrelevant.

Best budget EQ pedal by Behringer and a very good clone of the boss original. Very good clone, if you are on tight budget and looking for a gateway into pedals. What more could you ask for in an entry level pedal by a very good and trusted brand.

Als je hem aan het begin van je signaallijn hebt met een schoon geluid hoor je gelijk dat hij gewoon stil is. Als je hem aan het begin hebt staan met een piepklein beetje scheur krijg je gelijk heel veel ruis. Één van mijn twee versterkers heeft altijd een beetje scheur en dit is een probleem. Ik dacht hierdoor dat dit pedaaltje heel veel ruis produceerde. Hij hoort in de effecten lus of enkel bij een schoon geluid. Ik had hem compleet verkeerd beoordeeld. Dit is echt een top-pedaal. Je moet hem alleen wel op de juiste plek plaatsen. Sorrie voor de eerdere incorrecte review.

È il mio primo pedale eq e confermo che avere un pedale del genere in catena (io l' ho messo nel send-return) fa davvero la differenza, il suono diventa più corposo e aperto. La qualità è buona, il case è in plastica ma resistente è leggero e fa il suo dovere. Assolutamente consigliato per il rapporto qualità prezzo.

J'avais commandé récemment un petit pré-ampli pour écouter au casque mes répétitions de violon électrique. Il remplissait parfaitement son office aussi bien au casque qu'avec une petite enceinte amplifiée. Le volume du pré-ampli était cependant sollicité au maximum et le spectre sonore correct manquait un peu d'épaisseur et de profondeur. J'ai donc commandé cet égaliseur pour tenter de modeler un minimum de rendu sonore, et je n'ai pas été déçu, car le gain de base de ce produit m'a permis de réduire le volume du pré-ampli. Bien entendu l'égaliseur assure très bien son job et permet de modifier véritablement les "couleurs" acoustiques de l'instrument, sans grésillement ni ronflement. Le plastique utilisé pour le châssis de cet égaliseur semble assez épais et de bonne qualité, mais incite cependant à conserver le pied léger pour activer la pédale. La consommation électrique du produit est très modeste car la batterie 9 volts que j'y ai placée tient la charge depuis une bonne semaine. La notice livrée avec l'appareil n'est pas en français, mais on peut en télécharger une depuis le site de la marque. Le rapport qualité-prix est surprenant. Je suis très satisfait de ce produit.
