One of the most influential movies of all time, universally acclaimed by critics, filmmakers and the public alike. It’s a spectacular and relevant play in which Mastroianni plays a journalist disillusioned by the paparazzi life-style and jaded by a relationship grown stifling. Filled with gloriously memorable images, the shot of a helicopter lifting Christ’s statue out of Rome is iconic. Awards Fellini won the 1960 Palme d’or for La Dolce Vita and was nominated for the Best Director Oscar Region Coding: 2/B Language: Italian Subtitles: English Special Features - Digitally remastered from a restored print - Brand new exclusive interview with Anita Ekberg Review: a must seen - This is a masterpiece. Fellini caught the essence of the life back at that time in such an extraordinary way. The decadence going on in Rome, the contrast between the rich and the poor, the magnificent buildings, the glamour of Via Veneto, the shallowness and so on. Mastroianni is just amazing. I can't believe I waited so long to watch this film. Review: A masterly film. - A masterly film; a bit dated but bearing in mind it was filmed over fifty years ago that is no surprise. It is film of its time, and when first it came out was groundbreaking. it arrived on time and in excellent condition.

Fellini's master piece.
Though I saw many Fellini's films when I was a teenager, I haven't seen this one, as I was too young when this acclaimed one was on cinema. Unique and I found the beginning of Fellini's later style.

A classic movie.
Maybe it was because the film was in Italian, but I found the story rather long featuring many scenes involving paparazzi.

It is its title
To watch it for the first time is to be surprised, to watch it more than once is to make discoveries. The original shock is gone--these days nothing shocks us. But the scope is ever amazing.

Mannaggia a quei sottotitoli
