Brilliant for home office
Brilliant machine, feels sturdy and looks professional. The multilingual manuals are super difficult to get to grips with however, and it’s so very different to any printer I’ve owned before so took quite a while to set up (like do not insert ink before turning on and following instructions, it’s not obvious on big sheet but it’s important) and getting it to sync with WiFi took a few goes but once your set up it’s good to go.The print quality is super clean, very quick and quieter than I’d have expected from such a bulky machine. Works great with laptop phone and iPad so very pleased.Arrived super quick too.

Patience is a virtue
Good quality printer, takes a bit of time to set everything up especially as its Bluetooth (you will need to know your password for your broadband and you will need to be patient when copying your password). The disc does all the work installing everything for you. Once you're ready to print its very easy to use. (also good quality when printing photos) The only thing I haven't set up yet is working the printer from a tablet or phone (looking at the directions that seems to take some time). Definitely worth the money for what I'm using it for.

excellent value
build quality not up to my old HP machine recently confined to the dustbin, but does the job very well. Not a fast copier but adequate for occasional home use. Print quality fine and wireless connection easy to set up and works very well both off my main PC and mobile. All in all amazing value but don't expect a Rolls Royce for this price.

Zero setup time
Quick delivery and it works right out of the box.I have owned a MX868 printer from Canon several years ago and this new one MX495 is a replacement. The difficult setup process and unstable performance on WiFi network connectivity sometimes made me crazy, and the problem escalated when my friend's windows PC was trying to print with his winXP notebook. Everything seems good and smooth with this new printer, my Mac searched and connected and printed seamlessly with no driver installation process. My Win7 PC took time to install the driver from the included CD and it worked straight after a successful installation.Fully recommend this model for anyone wants a WiFi printer.

Broken item need replacement
This printer was very good, but now it will not print we have followed all instructions, as soon as you press to print a yellow light flashes and it will not work. As this is only 3 months old I did not expect it to break. I have tried contacting Amazon with no luck. I would like the item replaced for a working printer. I should not have to pay for a repair as it is still under guarantee. But can never find a way of contacting Amazon to report any problems. Five stars for everything while it worked. now a waste of money.

good enough, and does the job but very big and no light on display means reading instructions is difficult
I needed a new printer in a hurry and picked this one as I just got bored of reading reviews...it's exhausting. The printer was easy to set up and I now have seemless wireless printing, which is nice. The price was pretty good too. I haven't bought new cartridges yet as the ones that came with it are still going ( about 30 sheets done so far). It's also fab that I can scan stuff and it sends it straight to my desktop on my pc. The problem I have with it is that it is so big! my last printer fitted in a cupboard in my desk but this one it too big to fit ( to be fair, all of the ones in my price range were too big). Also I hate the fact that the display doesnt light up, i have it in a dark corner of my office and actually have to use a torch to see what the display says. Anyway, it's doing the job but I dont love it

Excellent value, many features, Wireless freedom, print from Cloud, multi page scan
I bought this printer after having read the reviews and specifications of several other printers. I chose this particular one for several reasons a) the top loading and multi-sheet scanning facility, b) the ink cartridges are cheaper than most, c) the wireless printing facility. I am very impressed with the instructions on set-up, which was easy and connecting wirelessly is a doddle. The wireless connection is amazing I have the printer set up in a small bedroom upstairs and can print without any issues from anywhere in the house...perfect.As well as the wireless printing, this printer has the ability to print from and scan to the cloud. I use Microsoft 365 and this feature will be invaluable in saving time, with the instant accessibility.Economy print. this printer has an ink saving feature which extends the life of the cartridges for another 20-30%.I also like the fact that there is a front mounted power switch which is also illuminated, so a reminder if I have left it on, also quickly and easily identifiable, (not having to search around for the on/off switch).Envelope printing, with previous printers, I've never really had much success with this. The Canon MX495 however, has a centrally aligning lower tray. I wrote the address in Publisher on a DL template, put in the DL envelope upside down and the printer did it's job perfectly, no hassle, and no screwing up my envelopes nor jamming them in the mechanism happy :-)The software that came with it I downloaded then removed most of the features as I don't need my pictures organised or any other controls modifying my settings, but maybe useful to those printing many photos for an album and many other printing features.Overall really good value for money, unfortunately not many stockists of this model, so I bought mine through Amazon and really pleased.

Great all round device
Great little 'all rounder' for the price.Once again, a good little package from Canon. We have bought 4 printers from the Pixma range so far without any complaints.Nice to have the facilities of a scanner, printer, photo-copier and a fax machine all in one package. Wireless printing is good too.Quick start up and shut down. Fairly swift first page print time too. Consumables are a good price too.
