Hi a size large is only age 7-8 years, unfortunately i imagine it would probably be a little small

I bought the age 7-8 for my 6 year old granddaughter who is quite slight in build. The dress was generously sized for her.I don't doubt that the costume will fit, maybe snugly.It is a lovely costume which she enjoyed wearing.There is another similar with a separate waistcoat which I bought a few years ago for my older granddaughter who was a larger build . This too would make a good purchase

my little one is 7 too and i got her a size xl because she is a well built little girl. The 2 problems i had with it were the sleeves were too long, and shortened them no problem, the other problem is the width round the bottom. even though i put a slit in the back seam , it still pulled apart when she went out to play. Hope this helps regards maureen beard
