no dont get that on any part of the gun it is for inside of barrels only and dry cloth or pull through after .if wet shoot dry gun and you can spray wd 40 0n out side of barrels let soak and wipe before putting back in cabinet .on stock furniture polish or wax depends on if it is oil finish or lacqered

I don’t suppose it matters if you spray into the barrels or onto a bore snake. I always spray into the barrels.
