Good filter media, easy to rinse clean

Does what’s is supposed to do, good media for for the aquarium, should support anaerobic/aerobic bacteria. Yes some bits are large, tap with a hammer and they be small. Needs a good rinse before use.

When recieved packaging was Broken and product bag ripped.

Perfect for the cultivation of anaerobic bacteria, give it 6 months (how long for anaerobic bacteria to grow) and it will gradually bring your Nitrates down.It does work, but it also does take 4-6 months for the bacteria to get going, the aerobic bacteria takes around 4-6 weeks, anaerobic takes around 4-6 months.Over that time I did see a slow gradual decline in my Nitrates, but now, the Nitrate level after a week is still lower that what's in the water that comes out of my tap. This is likely assisted no end by the sheer amount of live plants I have.

Product ok

Not bad for the price but it doesn't come as in the picture, mine came in big lumps - almost like lump of concrete that I had to break down with a hammer before use.

These were delivered quickly via Royal Mail. We bought this to replace our filter media in our pond (our filter had 3 layers then small bags of ceramic pipes - Blagdon 5 in 1). These are lightweight; we found that using these took the weight out of the filter and the filter ended up falling over so we had to go back to the ceramic pipes. (Not the fault of the seller but something to bear in mind depending on what filter you are using).You get a good amount for your money - the sizes of the pieces are mixed with some good chunky pieces in there.
