I received 2 terrapins with shell rot, vet said brush them with a soft toothbrush but it wasnt helping so I did my own research and found in America they get this from vets, brush it on gently with a medium toothbrush then use colidal silver gel and brush it on (ONLY the TOP shell OR bottom shell NEVER both because you need to let part of the shell breath, thats very important for turtle to survive) and now their shell rots almost gone. Wish vet had told me this a year ago. Its a long process but definitely worth it.

Great for minor injuries in pets.This is as veterinary product that is not as irritating as pure iodine.It is made for cleansing wounds and infected skin and for dressing wounds.It has powerful antibacterial and anti fungal properties.Now I am not suggest this can replace veterinary care and you should always consult or see a vet with any injury.I purchased for my reptiles I have a bearded dragons that are very susceptible to infection from any break in skin and one was bit by a cricket and applying this stopped it becoming infected and turn into abscess that would have resulted in much more than vet check up.I have also had snakes mis strike their food and bite themselves and this again is great for cleaning wound and keeping clean whilst it heals.Do follow full instructions and do see or consult vet in all cases of injury but I find this to be great product,simple to apply and helps wounds heal cleanly

To use this right, place your turtle in dry dock with heat lamp (do this on water charging day) dab some on a q-tip and cover the top shell, it is best to left the turtle up the do their under shell as they can get stressed if turned upside down, once done leave your turtle in dry dock for upto 2 hours so it sinks into the shell repeat the dry dock method for 3 days if the shell shows no sign of healing take to a vet.

This is perfect if you are hatching any birds as it prevents infection on the open umbilical after duckling has finished absorbing the yolk and detaches.
