Fabulous! So easy to clean too! Super value at just £19.99.
We have recently had two sandwich makers go wrong... One a brevile where the lid just cracked on me when closing! My husband then bought a cheap version... Not one I would have chosen and it was awful... He then agreed with me how awful it was so I took the time and researched on Amazon. This one is fabulous... It is 900 watt compared to my precious 2 which were just 700 Watts! So it gets hotter and browna the bread really nicely! When it comes to cleaning it is so simple and and quick. I let it cool for a little while then wipe off the dried food with a kitchen towel before then using a damp cloth... No detergent. Be careful as it stays hot on the lid edges for quite a while... As i discovered 😊 This is also far better then some others in they you can use full size bread and put plenty of fillingbin... In fact, I find it browns the bread better when the bread is filled because it touches the plates more fully! I love the fact that Tower offer an extended free warranty... All you have to do is go to the Tower warranty register online and it takes seconds... They then send you an email to confirm the exte nded 2 years on top of the 12 month extended warranty. I did this also with my Tower iron... So straight forward. The price for this too is amazing... Especially because of the warranty but also how good it is. The actual thing feels so robust compared to others and it looks pleasing to the eye too. My daughter was really impressed with it when she stayed over a while, so much so that she asked me to order her one which was delivered today and she can't wait to use it. When I compare it to the last two I had and others when I researched, this one really stands out. I can't rate it high enough... Particularly when it costs so little. I think anyone would be impressed with this..

Good results achievable with a bit of care
As there are a lot of reviews where the bread sizing has been a problem, I thought I'd try to address the issue if it's any help to others. I've uploaded 8 photos to illustrate the steps I took. I had uploaded these in chronological order; Amazon have messed up the order when processing my review but you get the idea. Despite some worrying reviews, I bought this as for £20 it seemed a bargain; looks good and I like both the 'Tower' brand embossing and the shell design of the plates which cleverly echoes the overall 'clam shell' shape of sandwich makers in general. Another helpful reviewer suggested rolling out bread to make the slice bigger, and you can see the before-and-after when I went at it with a wine bottle, not having a rolling pin in the house. There is a slight improvement in size. The bread I've used is best option for this, it needs to be thick bread to begin with because essentially you're compressing it to make it bigger in area, so medium sliced is not suitable as this will be too thin and then leaking may occur. Make sure that you butter the wrong side all the way to the edge to stop it burning and getting stuck to the hotplates. Some reviews note that the underside apparently is more well done than the top and suggest that this is a defect- it's more likely that this happens because the underside is in contact with the plates for longer whilst you arrange the fillings- not a problem with the product at all. Although the box says 'deep fill' it's best to try and ignore this as it's too tempting to overfill. It's really just common sense, anything of a viscous nature like baked beans are obviously going to leak out especially if too much is used. I experimented with both a portrait and landscape layout of bread to see if either offers more success. I used corned beef and cheese; the cheese as far away from the edges as possible. Anything between 3 and 6 minutes is suggested in the instructions. On this first attempt I went for 5 minutes. If anything is going to spill out when you close the lid, it's going to happen straight away, so don't walk away and leave it. As the product doesn't ping when it's ready, you have to monitor it anyway for safety's sake. A quick wipe at the edge with a paper towel is all that's needed if there is any slight leakage when you close the lid and if you follow my guidance you shouldn't have to go to any further lengths. My final image shows that even though the bread is still not quite big enough to reach the border which is cut off, the sandwich is still sealed sufficiently. As long as you follow the set-up instructions in the booklet provided and maintain the product well, you should get good results just like I have.

Find a Square loaf to use in it!!!
It's a toastie maker! And it certainly will make a toasties. Heats up fast, reasonably easy to clean. The only issue, as mentioned by others, is that the plates are Square. You'll find that most loaves are not! Therefore, although you get a lovely toastie, half the filling will have escaped making for a slightly less deep toastie and a bit of burned mess to clean up in the unit. Most of the toastie makers I've seen have square plates and I've no idea what they are thinking. Also, if you use thick toastie bread then it will really squash your taostie, as "deep fill" is not really that deep! Wouldni buy it again? Nope, I'd look around for something that'll either fit a slice of bread or be a bit deeper. It'll do for now though.
