Computer Grommet for Desk Table Cable Tidy (60mm, White)

I was a little bit dubious about purchasing this item due to a couple of the negative reviews, but I can confirm that the product is not flimsy at all and works exactly as described. Simply hole saw a 60mm hole in to your desk and insert the grommet. It's ever so slightly on the small size for the hole but nothing which can't be sorted with a bit of gaffa tape or some folded paper to make a more secure fit in the hole. My hole saw might not have been super accurate.

Cheap and small but did the job perfectly for what I needed. Not as robust as some of the more expensive metal and plastic versions but I needed all white and small size for a white computer station I was making so perfect for its intended use.On a bigger desk I would revert to the larger and more expensive metal and plastic type.

I like to use the part that rotates to open and close the aperture to hold the cables passing through it in place so that they don't fall through the hole if they're disconnected from whatever they were connected to. Unfortunately I find it difficult to open and close it from above and difficult to reach from below. If whatever you have connected is going to stay where it is, then that's obviously not an issue and it works fine plus it looks quite neat.Like another customer I found that the hole I'd drilled with a 60mm hole cutter was a bit large so I borrowed his/her idea of using a strip of Amazon cardboard packaging to wrap around the part that you insert into the desk to make a tighter fit. I used the part of a package (that a book came in) which you tear off to open it. After tearing it off, it had one serrated edge which I trimmed off, and one straight edge. I cut the strip narrow enough to be roughly the same width as the bottom 'lip' of the desk grommet and long enough so that the ends overlapped each other a little. The difference was that the underside of the cardboard strip I'd cut was still sticky from the glue so it stayed in placed! You could use a glue stick to achieve the same result.
