Couldn't really recommend
I needed something to keep my allotment brassicas separated from the pigeons who were convinced I was growing them as pigeon fodder. I had the netting, I bought the canes and waited for the cane-joiners to arrive. The delivery was speedy and efficient, the problem came with putting the canes into the joiners.I was using 5ft canes. But the difference in diameter between one end and the other simply cannot be accommodated by the joiners. The thick end needed shaving down. A lot. Bamboo is surprisingly hard to cut even with a very sharp knife. The end result needed to be pretty nearly parallel too as a tapering end wouldn't hold properly. The thin ends were very thin and were easily dislodged from the balls.I think the manufacturers have really tried hard to address there problems; the holes have fins inside to aid grip. They seem like an almost good product, that needs a bit more refinement. Perhaps the material they are made from is a bit too inflexible?I sort of like this product and admire the effort but I just couldn't get it to work.I'd be interested in trying a modified joiner as the principle is good.On the positive side, they make useful cane-ends to save you poking your eyes out.In the end I went to a timber merchants and bought a load of tile batten and made up frames that are working well.Message to prospective buyers: try them, they.re not too expensive and will come in handy as cane-ends if nothing else.PLEASE then write a review so others know.Message to manufacturers: please try to sort the problem od big diameter differences in caes out, then this will be a winner.

cane joiners
The joints are about the size of a large plum, flexible and nice and solid feeling. They also are good for hooking netting over. Unfortunately they don't really work with the 6foot bamboo canes that I use in the garden. The thin end ~0.6cm diameter falls out and the thick end ~2cm+ diameter wont fit. the joints seem to have been designed for sticks 1-1.5(at a push)cm in diameter. I still had to resort to using string to tie some of the joins which would have probably been simpler, quicker and cheaper than the joints. Also they don't arrive in the packet shown, they come loose in a jiffy-type bag which was a bit of a surprise... apparently they were taken out of the packet so the company could recycle the pack which is fine but i would have liked to have known in advance. All in all it does what it says it will and is lovely and sturdy but be aware if you (like me) buy the cheaper long garden canes that taper.

These are great, I would only have one criticism
These are great, I would only have one criticism: they don't fit all the canes, like it says on the packaging. Most fit, but the really thick bamboo canes are simply too thick and no matter how much you stretch the holes, the canes won't fit. It would be great for the manufacturers to make soem with slightly bigger holes. But otherwise, they are great for constructing net frames to protect your veg from all kinds of pests, including the main one in the UK, the domestic cat!!!

Good idea but choose your canes carefully!
I wanted to build a bamboo-based frame to cover with netting to keep the birds away from my vegetables. These connectors looked ideal and may be if the bamboo canes I bought (and which were recommended by Amazon - "other cutomers have bought these together with the connectors") had been good enough. They are mostly too small to make a proper fit in the connectors. I have, in fact managed to erect a structure with the connectors but it is pretty unstable and the moment I try to weed the vegetables inside, it will collapse!

great for the allotment
great little gadget, used it to put up nets all over the veg plot, you just have to make sure your canes fit as I had to go through loads of mine to find ones that were the right size, too small and they can fall out when a wood pigeon lands on them, too big and they wont go in. we ended up with black plastic 'canes' which worked great.

Pleased but frustrated.
Good flexible rubber. They are great for putting a frame together IF you have the right size bamboo's.Too small and it keeps falling apart,to big and the bamboo won't fit, very frustrating. The balls could do with being bigger with the holes tapered more so that all sizes of bamboo fit. After saying that, once I had built the frames I was very pleased with them and I would buy more.

Review change
I was contacted by the seller about my previous comment saying these were not 'Bosemere' flexi balls (as described in the product information) but a cheaper everyday alternative. I now understand these cane joiners are exactly the same ones as supplied to 'Bosemere' but are not labelled as such on the packaging. If you are looking for cane joiners to match Bosemere ones you already use - these are the ones!
