Garmin Protective Case Cover

Well made case, Etrex Vista fits snugly inside with a little hole for the lanyard to pop through also has a useful belt clip on the back.The case makes operation of joystick a little more difficult but not impossible

Fits well and provides some protection. The clear-plastic section that goes over the GPS's screen is a bit reflective, making it hard to read if there's direct light on it. The belt clip is very useful too. Not perfect, but, for the money, it's worth buying.

This case is excellent value for money, the quality is exactly the same as the Garmin case (x2) that I have purchased in the past for around £15. The case fits my new etrex Legend HCX like a glove. I am on my 3rd etrex GPS. First Venture passed to my son after 4 years with the case, Second Legend had for 3 years unfortunately lost it after a walk. I could not envisage handling the etrex on a walk without the case to protect it. All controls are accessable in the case, and you can handle it with confidence, knowing its protected.

I bought one of these in 2008 when i bought my Etrex H.It fits well on the ETREX and ETREX H and is very well made!If youu want a case / cover for the above GPS this is the one!

I find it hard to believe that a product this bad ever got to a production stage and I'm wondering if the person who designed it was actually given an Etrex to play with. I've seen some rubbish accessories made by third-party suppliers in the past but this is official Garmin kit!The plastic window is highly reflective and it's almost impossible to read the screen without taking the Etrex out of the case. I cut out the window with a scalpel, which resolved that issue, but...The fit of the case was so bad that the top of the screen was obscured by it and I had to either remove the Etrex from the case or spend a while pushing the case into a suitable position in order to see the boxes at the top of the map screen.The case was also touching the stick, making it all but impossible to push the stick to the left without, once more, removing the unit from the case.Other than providing a bit of cushioning while the Etrex is being carried (but not used!), the case is totally unfit for purpose.

I chose 3 stars because that equates to "it's okay". It is handy. Controls accessible, screen not obstructed, makes the unit feel a little more rugged, useful to be able to clip to things. It does make the unit considerably more chunky though and I don't think all that padding is strictly necessary for something designed to be rugged anyway (the GPS unit itself). It obviously doesn't protect against dust or water or anything so you are still relying on the unit's integrity for anything other than drop damage which I wouldn't be too worried about anyway because the unit seems sturdy.Unfortunately the clip isn't great. It's nice and easy to use even with gloves on but unless you put it on a really thick strap, it's not the most secure. E.g. on the waist strap of my rucksack (the actual belt part at the front rather than the padding) which seems like a pretty sensible place to keep it for quick access, I did find it popping off when I bent or sat or scrambled. I find I can't really clip on and forget, I do check repeatedly that it's still fastened to me, which is a bit of a pain, or end up putting the unit in my pocket which sort of defeats the point.Not bad, glad I've got it, but could be much better.+ Doesn't hinder use of GPS+ Feels like it would offer some impact protection+ Allows easy clipping on and off to equipment+ Usable with gloves- Limited protection for an already rugged piece of kit- Bulky- Clip spring not very firm leading to somewhat insecure fastening

It covers the Garmin. But in order to use the garmin easily it has to be taken out of the cover.

Does not fit my eTrex 20x nor 30x very well, not a snug fit but very lose... need some adjustment of velcro position.
