Did not work
I used this machine for 10 months and it has made absolutely no difference at all. Very disappointed.

Great product
I previously bought the smaller facial version of this product on the recommendation of India Knight in the Sunday Times and then got this larger version to use on my legs. Although I am a brunette the hair on my legs is much fairer and I have always read that salon laser therapy would not be suitable for me. I have been using this now for two months and there has been a noticeable reduction in hair growth. The product is easy to use - you can do it while watching tv - and I would definitely recommend.

Very good results in the end
I bought this after reading the rave review in the Sunday Times. It was simple to use and I was careful to follow the instructions to the letter. Unfortunately, after 7 weekly treatments, I still had lots of hair (on my lower legs) and I was very disappointed. However, I found their customer care department on their website, emailed them my concerns and, to my delight, they replied right away and told me that I should continue the weekly treatments (it is perfectly safe) and that hopefully, I would get some good results after 10 or 12 treatments. This is exactly what happened: I'm on week 11 and the results are very good. Some people's hair is just more resilient I guess!

Not worth the money or effort
Overheated - had almost no effect after 10 weeks of use

Persistence is key!
I was a bit apprehensive about using the illuminage Touch initially because I thought it would be painful but I needn’t have worried. It’s completely pain free and very simple to use. I have dark hair and began by testing a small patch on my leg first and then graduated to my arms, underarms and bikini area. I’ve been using it weekly for 2 months now and I am only just beginning to notice a slight reduction in the rate of hair growth particularly in the underarm and leg area. I am impressed with this product so far but feel that I am more like to achieve better results with prolonged usage. As it’s completely pain free and so easy to use, It has been no issue at all to incorporate it into my beauty regimen. I’m hoping by Summer 2018 I might be hair free!

If your coloring is right, this could work for you
I believe this is a really good product but sadly just not targeted at my specific coloring.I am extremely pale with dark hair and using the Iluminage for 3 months now produced visible results, but the thing is that I also own the SmoothSkin device and that one has provided me with much more noticeable reduction. SmoothSkin tends to hurt a bit when it zaps (it goes on the highest setting automatically because of my fair skin), while I can't feel the Iluminage at all, not even when I do the 3 obligatory passes. There has been a definite decrease with the Illuminage, but just not much as with my other device. However, my mother tried using the Smoothskin before and didn't have any results at all, with her hair being grey. Illuminage actually made a difference for her. You do need to epilate first so that the micro droplets of blood act instead of the hair colour targeting the device. She says this method made a significant difference and is sure that given more time the results would just get better and better.I'd conclude that if your skin is medium/darker or your hair light/blond/gray/light brown, this is the ideal device for you.If you however are very pale with black/very dark brown hair, I'd recommend you to invest in the Smoothskin instead.

dissapointed
I bought this 2 years ago direct from the homedics web site. The flasher has not run out yet although there is no indicator of how much power is left. I have fair skin and brown hair. I left a similar review on an older version of this machine but this is the one I have. I have found it effective at temporary hair growth retardation only on my upper lip (very fine hair) but not very effective anywhere else and requiring many treatments for months rather than weeks. If I had the same money to spend over again then I would go to a salon and have professional treatment, which I have tried before. Takes ages to do legs or other large surface area. if you follow the directions it does not hurt.
