Great educational toy and great nightlight for young'uns
I bought this for my son's 5th birthday, now the age range for it was a little higher than that (I think) however it was so simple to put together and so durable. He still uses it as his nightlight. The second lid projects constitutions on the roof beautiful. Just to a note about the seller: There was a dispatch error that was not their fault but they were so helpful and it arrived on day of my son's birthday.

A good first teaching model of the solar system
My 5 year old grandson is crazy about space so gave him this to show how the planets move around the sun. He loves it. The instructions are easy to follow and the connections are sound. It is not intended to be a toy so not suitable for rough handling. The information booklet is excellent and many adults were very interested in the data it contains.

Very good educational toy
At first we got a faulty product as the planets did not rotate but we got a replacement within a few days and it worked great. They were very polite and professional when dealing with a replacement.

It’s expensive but it’s works well
My son is obsessed with space and asked for this for Xmas. I was hesitant with the reviews. But it arrived in a bashed box (!) but fully working. It looks great but you need a lot of room for the planets arms to completely rotate around the centre. It’s hard to position in a room if it will be used where it is. But overall my sons happy with it and therefore I’m happy with it

Broken :-(
Bought this for my 6yo son for Christmas. He was so excited to open it and put it together. But alas - the motor does not work. We tried several sets of new batteries, but just cannot get it to work. A real shame.

SLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTING
I bought this for our grandson and, while it works fine, it is somewhat underwhelming and there is a key factor not mentioned in the sales literature. Assembly was easy and, after a bit of fiddling, the power came n and everything worked. However, the main reason for buying this, motorised, version rather than a much cheaper static version was to demonstrate that the closer a planet is to the Sun, the faster it orbits. There are separate gear rings in thew 'tower' for each of the eight planets so I expected all eight planets to rotate around the fixed Sun at approximately their correct speeds relative to each other. They don't. The four 'inner planets' are on a single gear and so move at the same speed and there is then a second gear to which the four 'outer planets' are fixed so they too move as a group. The instructions advise that this is intentional (there are only two groups of orbits, not eight separate orbits) but that isn't made clear on the sales advert. Indeed, the sales picture clearly shows eight gear rings so what's the point of that if there are only two orbits? It somewhat defeats the purpose of having a motorised model. The star projection is fuzzy ad difficult to see, even in the pitch darkness. The booklet that comes with the product is pretty good and is much more than just a simple set of instructions. Is it worth the money? Probably not.
