Multi-Sharp 1301 Multi-Purpose Blade Sharpener for Rotary Lawn Mower, Spades, Hoes, Lawn-Edgers, Shears, Axes and Other Garden Tools

I should have known better - a cheap convenient mower blade sharpener - that could be wrong? It's cheap - yes it's cheap. Convenient? - no - to get the space to use this and keep the blade from turning you are better taking the blade off - so not convenient at all. Sharpener? - no - it'll eventually remove the paint off the blade but you'll not have to beware of sharp edges. It needs a mains drill to run it otherwise it is too slow - ran it for 1/2 an hour on one blade face and still isn't sharp (+ the plastic guide had wore to 1/2 thickness already!) Took the blade off - 2 passes with a grinder and job was done in under a minute. It's cheap. Don't buy it.

I would not recommend this, so called sharpening stone. It grabs and jumps all over the place and I seriously doubt one could effectively sharpen anything with it. If I hadn’t owned it for such a long time, before using it, I would return it for a refund. If you’re thinking about purchasing this, do yourself a favour and buy a sharpening file instead. Plus while using it, it continuously fell apart, so it’s potentially dangerous as well. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS⁉️

Haven't had much luck with purchases from Amazon recently! Bought this to sharpen my Mountfield lawnmower blade, read the blurb & thought why not give it a try. When it arrived I removed the blade to give it a sharpen. Read the blurb on the packet, & it gives the correct angle as 55 degrees, but I did check this against the angle on the blade, which is more like 35 degrees. So I sharpened the blade, so I thought, put it back on the mower & started cutting the lawns. Problem is, it was worse than before I had sharpened it. The grass was hacked rather than cut, the grass was not all picked up & put in the collection box as normal. Have spoken to Mountfield, who state that if the angle is wrong this is what will happen. So have binned this, & bought a new blade which I should have done in the first place. Bit of a waste of money really!!!!!

The item is not very good unless the item you are sharpening is nearly sharp in the first place and even then I doubt it wil work well, most rotary mover blades are damaged by stones etc this leaves gouges and dents, which need flattening with a Bastard file and to be honest that is the best tool to use to sharpen the blade anyway, but even after flattening the back edge the grinding stone still grabs, I would advise buyers to not buy this and use a simple file instead and achieve a better edge

A little disapponted when a relized something was amiss as the wheel kept coming off. Looking at the packaging I realized the center screw and washer was missing so the wheel came off. It was packed in a plactic sealed packaging so I can only think the screw and washer were not there from the manufacturing factory. A pain having already taken the blade off the mower and setting up the drill only to pack it all away with the hassle of returning it. Not even a cheap product.

Complete gimmick, don’t bother wasting money on this. I bought this to sharpen the blade on a rotary lawn mower. The cheap plastic collar melts almost immediately, which fills the gap between it and the grinding disc making it impossible to sharpen the blade. The grinding wheel barely grinds the blade at all, even if you can get it to make contact with the cutting edge.

Used for the first time today on my lawnmower blade I claimed it in my vice and started to sharpen as instructed on book,I'm not weak ut it kept trying to jump about, then I noticed bits of the plastic guard were chewed off which I thought wasn't good. I want to mention now I was making sure not to push the blade in to deep so that can't be used as a excuse then to make matters worse the plastic broke in half not good on first outing I tried to show where bits were coming off on photo but can't really see it.

Seemed to be a great idea, and it is really…….. I found it was delivered in a timely fashion & fairly well priced (assuming it works). When I tried it, I just found it wasn’t all that. This could have been user error but I doubt it. I wanted to carry it with me so I could sharpen the mower blades whilst I was out and about, between jobs or if I had hit something hard in the lawn or if I hadn’t had chance to do my sharpening on ‘tool maintenance day’. Anyway, long story short, it sits in the garage now and doesn’t get used. Won’t buy another. May work well on softer blades but all my mowers are commercial quality and so May have tougher steel blades?

N'ayant pas la place pour un touret à meuler, ayant marre de payer 5 € à chaque fois ou de demander à un voisin pour aiguiser ma lame de tondeuse, j'ai essayer ce produit. Acheté en Mai 2016, utilisé 10 fois sans problème d'usure. Le produit n'est pas éternel, mais vu le prix on peut en acheter un par an ! Certains bloquent la perceuse dans l'étau, moi je bloque la lame de tondeuse dans l'étau. Le grain est un peu gros pour aiguiser les outils type machette, mais pour lame de tondeuse, hache, merlin c'est parfait.

Works great. I can sharpen 95% of the blade while still on the mowers. I use a hand file for the outer edges it doesn’t reach. Just be careful to do both sides as equally as possible so the blade stays balanced. I would take my blade off to do it but mine is self propelled and it is a complicated process to do.

Nice design. Lawns pickup a lot of surprises during a week. Sticks, rocks, dog stuff. And the blades get beat up. Try to take away equal amounts on both ends to keep the balance. To check lay the center of the blade on something round and check for a heavy end. Remove more on that end. I wouldn't do that unless yo did a lot of grinding. Not needed for light touchup.
