Great update to an already great pack
For many years the original Comet was my work backpack. I loved it and it served me well. I let it go because I no longer needed a work bag, and after many years of faithful service, the PU coated zippers were peeling. Outside of work I already had the great Nebula 34L as my travel and EDC bag. Recently, I saw they recently updated the Comet (and Nebula) and I was looking for a new backpack to alternate with my old Nebula. I love all the new upgrades!First, the PU zippers were gone and replaced with the rain guard flaps like my old Nebula. The main compartment received a big update with a size 10 zipper making it much easier to open and close. The top stash pocket was moved to the front and is now fleece lined. They added a front side zip stash pocket under the front handle. This adds even more storage options and is a great addition. I love the added tablet sleeve in the laptop compartment. The harness system is still comfortable but the U shaped harness for the straps may not be everyone's cup of tea. The grab handle was moved to the back top and is now easier to grab than the old top one, and is easier to put on a jacket hook in a bathroom stall. There are other minor tweaks and additions but overall I am very impressed with the new design, quality and weight of this pack. Under 2lbs for a 30+ liter pack is amazing. I own several other backpacks, including a few heavier ones made with more robust fabric, but sometimes you just want to minimize your weight.Just a couple of nitpicks. I could have used a luggage trolley strap. I also do not understand in 2025 why Osprey does not include strap keepers.

Best Backpack I Have Owned
I have had a lot of backpacks over the years including Tumi (the best until now). This is my second Osprey. The first was the Daylite Plus. A nice well-made backpack but a little too small especially if I want to use it as my second carryon on a plane. This one is perfect in size and compartments. The quality of workmanship is evident and a lot less expensive and lighter than a Tumi. Highly recommended.

Great backpack!
This is an awesome backpack -- it is comfortable, roomy, and provides great padding for my laptop.

Sturdy. Great zippers. Looks bougie.
The color is absolutely wonderful in person. I am so impressed by the craftsmanship. The zippers are all covered by material so water does not get in. The pull on the zippers are easy to use and appear to be quality. The laptop section has a false bottom so it will not hit the ground (exactly what I needed because my last backpack didn't have this and my computer got destroyed). There are many more compartments then I thought. There is literally a place for everything. This is going to be the best mass transit commuter, college backpack I ever owned. I am so excited. Hoping this takes me through my master's degree and PhD. I look forward to the memories.

Excellent product but not for me.
This like all the other products they make is a high quality one. However, I returned because it wasn't what I needed. I would still recommend this to someone.

Almost the perfect bag
I was looking for a bag that's similar in size to my Dakine 33l backpack. Looking at the dimensions of the Comet pack I thought it would be larger, however I do think this is truly a 30l pack. I've posted an image showing there are approximately 5 inches of depth inside the main compartment.Once a laptop is inside the backpack feels tight on space overall due to how rigid the laptop sleeve is. My 16" laptop is thick at 1" and cannot fit inside the inner sleeve, it has to stay in the zipped compartment. The shoulder straps do not have much padding in my opinion. The foam will wear down and to account for that, it should be thicker.Bottom line is that I'm keeping it because Osprey is supposed to be a good brand and I purchased this on sale. I will update this review once I use the bag frequently.

Fantastic backpack
Went through so many different backpacks trying to find the best one bag to tule them all and this ended up being the one. Slim and light when lightly packed while also roomy and comfortable when I need to fill it up. All while looking great, what more can you ask for?
