Slow Stitch: Mindful and Contemplative Textile Art

I wasn't sure if this book would just be jumping on the mindfulness bandwagon but I'm happy to say it's a really beautiful book and a good exploration of the meditative quality that sewing can have. It has a couple of ideas for projects in it but that is not really the main focus. I'm not sure I will go as far as slow dyeing my own thread in nettle juice - but the photographs and ideas are thought provoking. This would make a really good present for someone with an interest in sewing, textiles or craft.

A really lovely book for contemplated sewing. Really calming to work on small pieces of hand stitching between quilt making. A number of friends at sewing group also purchased it and love it as much as do. Great pictures all in all a great buy

An interesting book showing a number of different skills and designs, including Kantha stitch, some good ideas to practice before embarking on one’s own designs

The other reviewers were right,this book is just so easy on the eye,and lovely ideas,and kind to non expert sewers,the colours are beautiful,love it.

Love this stylish book and fabric texture covering. it takes you on a journey through and so much to learn.I just love the layouts of these book

I think I have reviewed this already but I will say again that the book is beautiful and I am just waiting for a quiet time when I can read it.
