... already been written about this toaster but we're so pleased with it that I felt the need to put ...
I don't want to duplicate what has already been written about this toaster but we're so pleased with it that I felt the need to put it on the web.We have been using long thin toasters for many years. This is because in our kitchen, a wide 4-slice toaster would take up too much room what with all the other stuff we have. However, during this time we have had to frequently replace them as they have inevitably broken down. Some have lasted a fair while, the recent one which preceeded the Kenwood did not last longer than a year. So, this toaster looks the business straight out of the box and I think its pretty sturdy. First off, we ran it empty as per instructions then started using it with bread. Once we had got the setting right, the slices get beautifully evenly toasted all round. This was doing 2 slices, one in each slot, on their sides. If we then load up 4 slices portrait mode, then the tops will not be toasted but that's alright because its obvious that the slots just are not deep enough. I haven't ever seen a long thin 4-slicer where a slice of upright toast actually dissappears. (But open to suggestions!)I love the Peek & View idea - brilliant. Just raise the toaster unit up and down to see how its all going. And the toaster looks good.'Nuff said

Makes great toast!
I bought this toaster because it was the right size to accommodate my favourite bread. The slices fit well into the slots but only one in each slot, so only two slices toast at a time, bit that doesn't matter to me. The toaster takes what seems like an age to toast, so slow, much longer than my old toaster. But the toast is great once it's done, can't fault it. It is difficult getting the toast out as my favourite bread is long and low, (cob style loaf) the lift facility is not sufficient and the toast is still too low in the slot so I use my rubber tipped tongs to remove the toast so I don't burn my fingers. Two minuses, but fantastic toast.

Excellent toaster
I bought this to replace an almost identical Kenwood toaster that I've used every day for the past 20 years. I was mortified when my old one finally died, but I'd really had value for money out of it, given how much use it had had over the years, so I can't complain. However, this new one is even better than the old one, & I loved my old one dearly. On this one, you can lift the toast up at any point without ending the cycle, which is fabulous. I toast loads of Bagels, sliced Baguettes and chunky Bread, so that one feature makes the world of difference to me. Apart from that, it's got two nice double width slots along with the standard Eject, Frozen & Re-warm buttons, and a decent crumb tray. Everything does exactly what it's supposed to do. I also liked the fact that it doesn't have any unnecessary gimmicks added on which just get in your way. This is just a toaster, & that's all that it does. It does it very well, & I hope to get another couple of decades out of this one too.

Great toaster, love it !
This toaster is great. Nice and even browning, good size adaptable slits which fits most toast and sliced bread types, which for us was important. The possibility to lift the toast whilst toasting is also great. Most of our bread and toast sizes fit all the way down the slits without sticking out at the top as we had this problem previously with other makes. The three settings for reheat, defrost and cancel are lit when in operation although we use only defrost and cancel and only sometimes. Very good value for money, looks and feels sturdy and good quality. We are very happy with our purchase and would by it again ;-)

Great toaster for large slices as well, very fast, very good value
Great toaster, looks good, easy to use and easy to clean. Wanted it to toast large slices of bread that stick out top of normal size toasters, this works perfectly. Its also very fast.

Quite good but levels are too strong
Really good double large slices toaster.Levels are too strong and bread can burn easily above level 2 or 3.Only using level 1 so have to be careful.

Good looking slimline Toaster
Bought as a Christmas present for daughter and son in law. Nice slender toaster, fits well into the limited space in their small kitchen, but still takes 4 slices of bread to toast. Didn't realise that the 'peek and view' function simply means that you can lift the racks during the toasting operation - not a 'viewing window'! So far, children very pleased with it - browns toast evenly, however many slices of bread have been put in, and is easy to keep clean and crumb-free.

Toasts well but temperature markers rubbed away
This toaster is exactly what we want das it has two very wide slots ideal for the wide slices from my home made bread. And it toasts evenly and you can raise the toast with the lever to check how it's doing without altering the setting. Sadly, after just 3-4 weeks all the markings came off the control knob ans it's impossible to know what setting it's on, so very much trial and error. Not ideal, especially since it was about £35 so not very, very cheap. This is the only complaint but it's an important one as different kinds of bread need differe settings. The markings have disappeared totally so you can't even try and guess. So Kenwood need to start using an indelible painter or some raised markers that stay in tact. It's shame really as it spoils the whole purpose.
