Just What I Was Looking For
The Wheels on the BusThere are several CD's with very similar titles, and I had great difficulty finding the correct product link to insert in this review! The CD I am reviewing is called ''The Wheels on the Bus' - 26 Favourite Pre-School Songs' by Michelle Durler and Robin Fritz [AudioGO]. The cover has a red bus in the foreground and a red and white ship in the background.IT IS NOT 'Wheels on the Bus' (BBC Audio Children's) (Audio CD) as the link says, NOR is it 'The Wheels on the Bus Go Round the World') [EDIT 19/04/2014: On glancing back at this purchase, I see that the link has been corrected, and the picture now relates to the product.]The songs are sung clearly, in a traditional way - not all 'jazzed up', and are easy to listen to and sing along to. For ease of listening there are index points at regular intervals on this recording. The songs are:The Wheels on the BusDown at the StationRow, Row, Row Your BoatThe Big Ship Sails on the Alley Alley OhLondon Bridge is Falling DownJack and JillHickory Dickory DockI'm a Little TeapotMiss Polly Had a DollyPolly Put the Kettle OnPop Goes the WeaselFive Currant BunsTen Fat SausagesPeter Hammers With One HammerThe Grand Old Duke of YorkBoys and Girls Come Out to PlayI Jump Out of BedHere We Go Round the Mulberry BushRing a Ring O' RosesI Hear Thunder, I Hear ThunderIncy Wincy SpiderHeads, Shoulders, Knees and ToesIf You're Happy and You Know ItTwinkle, Twinkle Little StarWee Willie WinkieTen in a BedI can recommend this CD to people looking for a traditional, old-fashioned' collection of nursery rhymes.

I wanted certain songs and this has them
At the same time I purchased this I also purchased wheels on the bus go around the world.I rate this one higher than the other.Florence enjoyed the wheels on the bus version much more, she liked the fact she could hear the bus at the end too. She's very into hearing things lately and often says, "hear plane" or birds.Lots of nice sounds lead the sounds in or out and that's a nice touch. Row row row your boat is abit slow going but nice enough. Sung as a round.Miss polly had a dolly is a favourite and Florence liked this one as she can sing along in her own words. It's also sung twice which is nice when she shouts "again"We liked the whistling teapot at the start of polly, it's a nice touch although Florence thought it was a nee nar car (police car) lol.We enjoyed five currant buns too, nice and slow so you feel confident joining in. Also the gap is large enough for you and your child to count left over finger in-between verses. Love the little penny dropping sounds too.Peter hammers with one hammer has become daddy taps with one hammer but Florence enjoys it. Like the tapping sound effect too on this one.Nice drumming at the start of the grand old duke. Nice it's sung by a male voice, really suits the track.Overall this is a far better cd than the wheels on the bus around the world. Would happily purchase this again.Florence seems t prefer this one out of the two. It's more straightforward without all the extras that don't add anything to the track.I hear thunder is also nice at the beginning. Can see this being handy for anyones child who is afraid of storms.

Lots of songs to sing along to.
My great grandson didn’t enjoy riding in the car much until I got this for him. I have seen a video of him singing along to it and he doesn’t mind going in the car now because he’s happy singing all the different songs.A great buy:)

Not grown-up friendly
Not as bad as other children's cds but reminds me a lot of "Music Time" from when I was growing up (the one where the notes were little spots that lit up as they sang along). By the time you get to the end of "I jumped out of bed" you will probably want to slit your wrists. Still, my son enjoys it and sings along quite happily, even after 3 or 4 years.
