I have always had a cheap set of can openers which recently got rusty and stopped working. They were very tough to use and hurt my hands. These OXO once’s were a little more pricey but the reviews were great so I thought why not give them a go. Definitely spending a little more makes life easier, as I now realise. These are very smooth and easy to use, they take no time to open the cans and also feel good on your hands as they are easy to grip and non slip. They feel really good quality and sturdy so should last a while.

This tin opener is honestly a dream to use. It makes opening tins feel completely effortlessh. It also doubles as a bottle opener, which is such a handy bonus. I have a lot of problems with my hands and have been through so so many can openers..maybe because I'm left handed but more likely they were just terrible can openers although some were expensive. When the oxo one arrived I wasn't holding out much hope as I had been so disappointed before. NO..I was amazed.. You hear a good click when you close it onto the can which tells you it's connected and turning was soooo smooth..I could turn it so easily like a knife through butter..I believe I could spin it with one finger. To get such a great opener at such a low price amazes me as I have spent a lot over the years. It's very comfortable in the hands and is good and chunky with soft grips which are very easy on my hands.. which for me really does help. I also like that it opens right up for Easy access and cleaning. Overall I love this oxo can opener..if it lasts me 6 months I'll be happy 😊.. All my others failed within weeks. Definitely recommend you buy one, especially if you're disabled like me. Also the lid comes off neatly so it fits snugly at the bottom of the empty can!

What an absolutely fantastic tin opener. Large and easy to grip and cuts through the tin with no effort. They are really strong and should last for years. It cuts the lid and not the side of the van, which makes it a safe method of opening. The best part is, I have now chucked that useless Magi-can tin opener in the bin.

I bought 3 OXO Good Grips items in the past year. Two are stellar, and one is mediocre (I'm looking at you, Lasagna flipper). As my Starfrit can opener recently died a dull death, I searched Amazon for a replacement. The Starfrit wasn't a bad product or brand, but all good can openers must dull. Ultimately, I bought the OXO due to its high average review score. ◘ Functionality ◘ Fortunately, OXO's can opener is of the stellar variety. It tightly grips cans and succinctly slices through metal without a fuss. I've washed it many times, and it shows no signs of wear. ◘ Grip ◘ The grips are rubberized and true to their name: quite good. The turning handle is large enough that it will never hurt your fingers on a stubborn can, which may not even exist since it slices so easily. ◘ Additional thoughts ◘ 1. While it opens cans with ease, it can cause lids to fall into the can if you chop full circle. It does not grip the can and help you out in any way. Like I said, it's a very basic can opener... and all I need, frankly. I tend to leave a tiny bit on top and just pull the lid off to avoid any issues. It's something to consider if buying for someone who has difficulty manipulating the average opener. 2. This specific can opener is NOT magnetized, just to clear up any marketing confusion. ◘ Conclusion ◘ I'm very happy with this product, and I hope our relationship lasts many years. Fingies crossed! Update 06/10/2019: Been using it for over a year. No rust, and it opens cans like it's new. Couldn't ask for more.

Excellent quality. Have tried others over the years and OXO is the best. Don't waste money on inferior openers.
