iRig Pro for iPad and Macbook
Fantastic device for connecting a guitar, bass or mic into your MacBook or iPad. Works seamlessly with LogicPro, GarageBand and amp modelling apps like Amplitube. I have two of these now as they are so good.

Great little interface
My laptop died on me in the middle of recording some guitar for a client. I bought this to plug into my iPhone and finish the job using GarageBand and it is perfect for that.I’ve now bought a new MacBook and can confirm the usb c connector is compatible with the usb/thunderbolt they now use so I’ll continue using this until I get something better.Limitations are around connectivity. Just one mini Jack headphone output but it’s to be expected on a little unit like this. I will need to get something with multiple ins and outs to get back to serious recording but this will still have a place in my set up for any future emergencies. Not tried any of the software yet but I’m sure it’ll be good for what it is. I tend to work with logic use real amps and effects but I will experiment with it at some point

Great kit ! took a while and a wee bit of effort to get it to work with my PC but got there! The way the software packages are delivered and authorised is "clucky" at best, "confusing" in terms of what you actually have bought at worst, IK should make this side a little easier for us.

Easiest option to work with ipad
Initially thought this expensive but then considering ease of use and additional software available was a no brainier. Then additional bonus was Amazon discounted price. Equipment is solid and very good build quality.

Not all it's (possibly) cracked up to be.
16 - 05 - 2018I purchased this primarily to use with my Android tablet. However the Android interface cable is not included in the package and will cost a further £33.64 if ordered from the IK Multimedia website. At the time of writing this I am waiting for this lead to arrive so I cannot comment on the Android performance.. In the meantime I have tried the unit out with my Windows 10 laptop as a Mini Din to USB lead is included. At the moment the amount of latency in the guitar signal is wholly unacceptable and I have contacted IK Multimedia to find out if there is a work around this problem. I'm surprised that this is not mentioned in reviews etc. as, in my opinion, it renders the package useless..17 - 05 - 2018This is an update from my previous review. Having registered my iRigPro I/O on the IK Multimedia website I was able to send a support request from the User Area. The reply was very prompt and gave detailed instructions as to how to fix the latency problem. This involves downloading a program called ASIO4ALL and making a few tweaks. The latency is now at a usable level.Th problem now is that I can’t get iRigPro I/O to work with either my Android phone or tablet. There is an Amplitube app on the Play Store but this seems to be compatible with iRig UA only. I have sent another support request with regard to this.18 – 5 – 18I have now received the Mini Din – USB OTG cable in order to hook up the iRigPro I/O to my Android powered Samsung Tab A. I have established that this is compatible with USB OTG as it works fine with the SanDisk OTG portable memory device I have. I noticed that when I hooked the iRigPro I/O up to the Samsung with this cable the blue light came on briefly whereas when I hooked it up to my laptop this light stayed on constantly. There was no notification that Android had detected the iRigPro I/O. The only IK Mutimedia app that I could find on the Play Store is Amplitube UA which I subsequently discovered only works with iRig UA costing £87.53. This is described in its headline as an interface for ALL Android devices. I sent a further support ticket to IK Mutimedia to enquire as to a suitable app the would work with iRigPro I/O. I received a reply suggesting ‘Audio Evolution Mobile Studio, or USB audio recorder’. When I enquired further as to why there was no dedicated IK Mutimedia for the iRigPro I/O I received this reply ‘For the AmpliTube for Samsung apps, you would need a Samsung Pro Audio device such as the S7 or S8’. I am now considering whether it is worth keeping the iRigPro I/O or returning it in favour of the iRig UA.

Very Disappointed!
I bought this item due to rave reviews via music press and am so disappointed I will simply never trust another IK Multimedia product. As with most reviews I was very excited to receive the irig and should have trusted my instincts with the mains adapter unable to connect via the socket, despite 2 replacements. Decided to continue with batteries and all was well until the ipad would show a green screen and reboot. This has happened on several occasions with the latest being yesterday when it rebooted during a rest period.A few months ago the headphone socket became unusable despite trying several pairs of headphone. The jack lead will simply not insert! Please save your money and choose an alterative
